There are indeed two different Vintage Vortexes available from Nike Sportswear at the moment, but there’s no need for confusion. The Vortex Vintage Lunar is a classic silhouette riding a LunarLon cushion (in contrast to the entirely updated LunarMax Vortex), while the Nike Air Vortex VNTG is your classic V-Series runner made all the more old school by a pre-yellowed sole and the arrangements of mostly subdued tones on the upper. The glossy Varsity Red branding is a nice exclamation point on an otherwise hushed design, and they’re available now at Overkill.

Nike Sportswear has been a strong proponent of animal print sneakers this year, but while feline patterns have thrived, zebra stripes are considerably less common (thumbs up if you recall the ‘Daktari’ Dunk Low from a decade ago). In fact, there have been more Air Force 1 Bespoke designs featuring the familiar black/white pattern than all other NSW drops combined, so the market is ready for a more affordable price point. And that’s where this new Zebra Pack comes in, combining the Nike Blazer Mid with its lowtop counterpart (in VNTG form) along with the Air Vortex ’80s runner so that one pair of each goes full-zebra while the other just stripes the Swooshes. Have a closer look below so you can let us know which came out best, then grab yours exclusively at what is presumably Ricky Gervais and Steve Carell’s favorite sneaker shop, Office.

The Nike Air Vortex got off to a huge start at the beginning of May, issuing five VNTG series colorways ranging from classically simple to new and neckbreaking. This 1980s favorite returns for Q3 with another quartet of new colorways, this time uniformly meeting the expectation you’d have from this ‘fall’ season. All four are fairly dark, the ‘brightest’ of the bunch possibly the first candidate for the elusive ‘Triple Grey’ nickname. The rest are all fairly dark but lightly distressed suedes and off-white midsoles make for softer impacts than you’d get from more saturated colors. Click through so you can see the whole set then decide which one(s) to pre-order in advance fo the July drop from Titolo.

A few days back, Sneaker News showed you three new Nike Air Vortex VNTG colorways that’d just arrived at a Nike Sportswear dealer in Europe. Elsewhere in the Old Country, two others have also arrived to bring the total to five, and that means the range of colorways is sure to have something for everyone. Each of these are constructed as they should be, from suede, mesh and nylon just as the originals did some three decades ago, and mild pre-yellowing on the midsoles reflects the aging process. Between these, the Size? exclusives and that Fresh Mint/Voltage Cherry pair, the Euro zone is killing it with Vintage Air Vortexes; is one of this new quartet available now from Asphalt Gold the best yet?

Yes the Nike Air Vortex is getting quite the futuristic upgrade right now, being equipped with the Hyperfuse look like so many other Nike Sportswear silhouettes before it. Fear not though, the classic version will be kept intact as well through the VNTG styled releases like this trio of Summer 2012 pairs. Coming with a slightly yellowed midsole, these three keep things punchy with some colorful combos draped over the sort of mesh, nylon, and suede designs that remind us so much of classic Swoosh footwear. Stay with us after the jump for a full look at all three new Nike Air Vortex VNTG colorways and be on the lookout for them now at European accounts like Barcelona’s own 24 Kilates.

While the rest of Nike Sportswear’s V-Series retro runners are rapidly fading into our memories of 2011, the Nike Air Vortex seems poised for another lap this spring. Size? announced an exclusive VNTG Air Vortex for February just before another blue pair hit just a couple days ago, and now the above pictured release means that along with the Anthracite and orange joints we showed you just before the turn of the year, there’ll be at least four new pairs this quarter. Fresh Mint and Voltage Cherry come together on this newest look to give a crisp minty watermelon appeal that’ll keep you cool long into the summer. Get ready for the conditions outside to get brighter by reflecting the same springtime renewal with your sneaker wardrobe and grab these at select NSW retailers like Titolo.

We told you at the tail end of last year that the Nike Air Vortex would be back around for 2012, a prophecy that has so far been fulfilled. Having already given you a look at an impending pack featuring the full trio from the V-Series, we’re back again with a new colorway way of the Nike Air Vortex with the VNTG embellishments. As is always the case when dealing with the faux-vintage look, there’s a bit of a rough around the edges aura about these, but they are far from dingy thanks to the metallic silver that blazes across the side and the bright varsity royal that wraps the upper. We’ve got the full shots for you after the jump, so check those out and hit up End to get a pair now.
