Over the last few years, we’ve noticed an evolution in Kanye West’s personal style, going from streetwear brands to a more luxury ‘high-end’ type of urban apparel. What hasn’t wavered is his love for sneakers, and as one of the most influential tastemakers and sneakerheads of our generation, the partnership between ‘Ye and Nike has produced the most sought after sneakers of the decade – the Nike Air Yeezy. While we’ve seen clear looks at the Air Yeezy 2 over the last few months, we have yet to finalize solid release information – but as long as we keep seeing them out in public, we can at least hope a release in imminent (currently rumored for March 23rd). Kanye West was recently spotted at London Fashion Week wearing the Nike Air Yeezy 2 in the ‘Zen Grey’ colorway; he matched it with his two-toned denim outfit, a bright green sweater, and a healthy helping of gold chains around his neck. Kanye West took globetrotting for exotic fashions to new heights during his meteoric rise to fame in the middle of last decade, and Yeezy was once again spotted going gorillas in Paris yesterday, where the black Mercedes he was seen riding within matched every item of clothing he wore. That includes the Nike Air Yeezy 2 in black and pink, a colorway that carried over from the first Air Yeezy and perhaps represents the Kanye x Nike collaboration better than any other. ’Ye was seen with a notebook in hand as he headed down the sidewalk; could he have been crafting the early sketches of the Air Yeezy 3? We haven’t even gotten much more than a peep at any of the other upcoming Air Yeezy 2 colorways yet, so let’s slow down for a moment, and take the opportunity to see it in the City of Lights after the jump, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for updates. via Bauer-Griffin.

Jay-Z has built a reputation of giving special attention to the sneakers he loves, which is why he’s been spotted in Black/Cement IIIs and Air Jordan 1s rather frequently (that’s a solid and concise rotation, is it not?). It seems like the Air Yeezy 2 cracked his exclusive list, because he’s been spotted again with the Yeezys while sitting courtside at the Kentucky vs. Louisville game on Friday. Sports fans may remember that he was under a bit of heat by the NBA for being in the Wildcats’ locker-room after their Final Four clinching back in March, but this time around, he played nice by remaining in the stands and probably won’t be fined by the NBA. Just last night Sneaker News broke the news of a possible Nike Air Yeezy 3 in its beginning stages, as Kanye West mysteriously tweeted his desire to ‘sketch’ the Nike Air Yeezy 3. While this news is rather exciting, we still don’t know much about the Nike Air Yeezy 2, except that the tentative release date is currently set at March 23, 2012, and that the group of people who are known to have the Yeezy 2s in their possession is rather exclusive. You can add Kanye’s ‘big brother’ to that list, as Jay-Z was spotted sitting courtside at last night’s Nets/Hawks game wearing the Air Yeezy 2 in the Black/Pink colorway. The Yeezy 2 is apparently a hot courtside-Feet item for the Watch The Throne stars as Kanye West was also seen wearing the Yeezy 2 during the Christmas Day game between the Lakers and Heat. The Nike Air Yeezy remains as one of the most compelling year-round sneaker topics in the game, and with the upcoming release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2, it’ll reach higher heights. Until we do get more solid information regarding the release (tentatively set at 3/23/12), here’s a look at some more Air Yeezy goodness – a 1-of-1 ‘Laser’ sample. It features a similar colorway to the ‘Grammy’ edition that was auctioned off over two years ago, but this particular pair features lasering of the ‘YEEZY’ graphic on the midfoot strap that was seen on heel-tabs of other Air Yeezy samples. Utilizing a ‘lux’ motif with croc-skin and a dazzling ‘glow-in-the-dark’ treatment on the outsoles, the Nike Air Yeezy 2 provides a visual treat that only increases the hype of the Air Yeezy 2 release, which is tentatively set at March 23rd. One of the biggest stories this past week was the rumored release date of the Nike Air Yeezy 2, which is tentatively set to touch down on March 23rd, 2012. However, we still haven’t seen detailed shots of the Air Yeezy 2 until now, and the luxurious materials and design should make these as successful (or maybe more than) the original Nike Air Yeezy. The Black/Pink/Mint colorway features a premium croc-skin material on the upper with a molded heel (possibly Foamposite?) with a rugged nylon material with suede material foxing. On the medial side is a suede midfoot strap housing as well. The midsole features a combination of black and mint green with a translucent mint green outsole (with the construction borrowed from the Air Tech Challenge II). The idiom ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ certainly applies to the Air Yeezy 2 design, as it utilizes similar design formula used in the original. By now, we’ve had a ton of good looks at a few upcoming colorways of the eagerly anticipated Nike Air Yeezy 2, but actual info on their release has been pretty hard to come by. Originally expected to hit retail towards the end of 2011, Kanye’s second Nike shoe saw some delays, pushing it back to sometime next year. Rumors have been swirling for a while that a March drop was scheduled for the first release, and now we get some unofficial confirmation by @AirMag on Twitter. While not affiliated with Nike, the source has posted a countdown graphic for the Yeezy 2, indicating that it will finally hit stores 100 days from now, making the tentative due date March 23, 2012. No word on which colorway will hit first, but you know Sneaker News will keep you up to date with all the latest info.

Mr. West is once again in the building, and you absolutely have to have your swagger on a hundred-thousand trillion to be able to pull off a black leather pants and kilt combo. Then again, at the bottom of those pants is the raging inferno also known as the Nike Air Yeezy 2, so Kanye could wear pretty much anything he wanted alongside their unmistakable black and pink lines and perhaps the wackier the better. We’ve come to expect nothing but outlandishness from Kanye, and this latest sighting in Dallas reminds us that we’ll still have to carefully Watch the Throne until an Air Yeezy 2 release date is announced. If you’re an executive of the label that helped make Kanye West the international hip-hop/urban culture/fashion icon he is today, expect some great gifts. Shawn ‘Pecas’ Costner, an executive of Def Jam, just showed off his Grey/Red pair of the Nike Air Yeezy 2, given to him by Kanye West. Thus far, we haven’t seen the Air Yeezy 2 on the feet of anyone else, but Pecas’ fruitful relationship with Kanye deserves him so nice hook-ups! The upper of this new colorway features numerous tones of grey with a red inner lining and a mint green outsole – similar to that of the Black/Pink Air Yeezy 2 that we’ve seen quite a lot of. We also have a closer look at the tongue, which uses an enlarged diamond-mesh material, and the mid-foot strap harness on the medial side, which is decorated by triangular details. The toe-box also appears to have a ribbed stitching pattern, which spans most of the forefoot. Is this the best Air Yeezy 2 colorway you’ve seen thus far? Let us know after the jump.
