The Nike Alphaballer Mid will debut this coming Spring 2012 season as a retro-inspired basketball shoe, taking cues from Nike’s classic basketball designs. Right off the bat, you’ll noticed the solid Nike Vandal outsole, which supports a retro-esque upper design. You can see clear inspiration from the Nike Convention High based on upper ankle fixtures, the mudguard that spans the entire shoe, and the Air Jordan IV-esque toe box, which features a slight dip at the outer toe for flexion. Hardly a technological advancement, the Alphaballer Mid is something for the crowd who enjoys classic appeal, and at quick glance resembles the Supreme x Nike SB ’94.
