nike plus basketball technology 3 A Look Inside Nike+ Basketball Technology

Just how does Nike+ Basketball measure your mind-blowing eight-inch vertical? The unveiling of the revolutionary Nike+ technology proved that Nike is driven solely by a passion for innovation, because in just two months, Nike completely changed what we know about athletic performance and self-improvement by introducing Nike+ Basketball, Nike+ Training, and Nike+ FuelBand. Nike+ Basketball won’t be introduced to the public until later this year when the Lunar Hyperdunk+ hits stores, but here we have a look inside the mechanics of Nike+ Basketball embedded into the midsole of the Lunar+ Hyperdunk; this particular bit of hardware is of the right shoe, with Nike+ Pressure Sensor modules placed appropriately on the heel, outrigger, and big toe to measure a wide array of on-court physics like jumping ability and ‘hang-time’, and other pertinent information that is then wirelessly transmitted onto synced devices. It’s definitely one of the coolest bits of tech Nike has ever created, so take a look at the extra shots below and let us know what you think. via hoopchina

nike extends jeremy lins contract Nike Extends Jeremy Lins Contract

It’s well known that Nike spends a huge amount of time and money scouting out future NBA stars, locking them down with lucrative contracts that are mutually beneficial for the involved parties. This time around it seems as if a star has simply fallen in their lap, as Jeremy Lin (aka Linsanity, Super Lintendo, Lincredible, etc.) has recently gone from sitting on the bench to galvanizing the New York Knicks and lighting up Kobe in the Garden. No doubt a result of the seismic effects of Linsanity, news hit today of Nike extending Lin’s contract, a move that is rumored to grant the newly minted Knicks star his own PE, possibly in the form of the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011. It’s hard to image Nike not striking while the iron is this hot, and you can be sure that Sneaker News will have the info if the Linsanity movement is indeed crystallized in sneaker form. Until then, let us know in the comments if you think this is a good move for Nike and whether or not Jeremy Lin can keep leading his team with such amazing performances. Also, hit the jump for Nike Basketball‘s official statement on his recent rise.
