Since the short-lived CS edition dropped off, it’s the only clear Mid of the bunch, and what’s more, the skate-oriented Blazer pictured above features a LunarLon footbed. So not only is the Nike Blazer Mid LR a nice niche within the immortal vulc-soled blucher family, it’s also on the cutting edge of performance with a superior combination of cushioning and boardfeel. This Squadron Blue edition keeps with the Blazer LR’s preferential use of the quilted nylon Swoosh and heel tab, so check them out up close below before you grab a pair from shops like Premier.

Whereas the recently released Lunar Blazer expresses itself with bold colorways and puts its cushioning update right out in the open, the Nike Blazer Mid LR hides its LunarLon footbed within the traditional vulc sole and has to this point stuck to muted colorways. The Blazer LR’s classic good looks belie the space age addition that makes it distinct from the series’ other variations, and the fact that this Midnight Fog, white and black edition is fairly nondescript means that you can also employ them where something like a neon lunar sole just won’t do. Have a closer look below, then check out the latest advancement combining boardfeel and comfort at skate shops like Flatspot.

Nike Sportswear’s Mid and High designations often leave us wondering which Blazer is which, but when it comes to the Action Sports division, there’s no doubt. The Nike Blazer Mid LR has a distinctive cut that merges the Swoosh’s first basketball design with the high ankle/low heel styles we’ve seen on recent Hyperdunks and Hyperfuses, and of course, the KD V. These also stand alone among the Blazer lineage with their use of LunarLon cushioning, but the style on this Strata Grey and Metallic Cool Grey edition is the same low-key elegance we’ve come to expect. Have a closer look below, then grab yours at select retailers like Flatspot.

The Blazer is enjoying its new action sports-oriented midcut variation with the LunarLon cushion. It’s also thriving in low-key earth tones, khaki to be more specific. Following up on October’s Dark Khaki and Filbert edition comes this new Nike Blazer Mid LR in (not Dark) Khaki suede, along with a textured black Swoosh. As with the first Hybred release we saw this week, these new Blazer LRs go with a refreshed tongue tag echoing the box branding, so have a closer look at them after the jump, then find yours at retailers like Premier.

Given that the last release featured a kiltie, corded laces and brass hook eyelets, this new Nike Blazer Mid LR is relatively subdued both in color and construction. A slightly more well done reimagination of 2010′s ‘Gold Dust’ Blazer CS SB, this new LunarLon Blazer Mid rocks a Dark Khaki suede with Filbert accents including the nylon Swooshes, adds a gum outsole hidden by a familiar white on the woodgrain foxing. This sole, in turn, hides the LunarLon footbed that sets this design apart from Nike Skateboarding’s Zoom-cushioned efforts, and you can see these details and more in photos after the jump before buying at select retailers like Caliroots.

The Nike Blazer Mid LR debuted this spring and made appearances in London with a Tinie Tempah collabo and an Olympic Medal Stand makeup, and has now aged enough that they’re coming through with themed variations. The latest LunarLon Blazer Mids arrive with luxurious leather uppers embellished by a kiltie that’ll remind experienced sneakerheads of 2006′s Dunk Low SB ‘Golf Pack’. These come from the Swoosh’s reorganized Action Sports division ready for skate as well as the colder weather as evidenced by their boot-like upper eyelets, and you’ll find these available today at shops like Size?.

Nike Skateboarding can’t get one of its signature athletes onto the London podiums because (wait, remind us why skateboarding isn’t an Olympic sport?), but they’ve managed to contribute the Lunar Blazer to roughly a third of Team USA athletes for their medal ceremonies. This new Nike Blazer Mid LR would make a solid alternate with its Dark Obsidian suede upper and Dark Gold Leaf accents, its perfect timing furthered by the Michigan Wolverines’ rapidly approaching kickoff. Have a closer look at this autumn-leaning Blazer LR after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for updates on its August 2012 release.
