NIKE BLAZER MID The Nike Blazer Mid is a slightly altered version of the Nike Blazer High, the first of Nike’s foray into the world of basketball sneakers together with the Bruin. The Nike Blazer Mid features a smoother side wall on the rubber midsole along with a strip of foxing running along the base of the upper in comparison to the Nike Blazer High. The Nike Blazer Mid remains the less retro’d of these two closely related sneakers.

Nike Blazer Mid “Leopard”

An awakening from post-recession fat cutting and advances in textile manufacturing have combined with a variety of social factors to push printed apparel and footwear to new heights, and now you’re just as likely to see a camouflage or geometrical pattern alongside a ‘dipped’ monochromatic style on store shelves. Somewhere between the tonal look and the wild animal craze that’s sweeping the fashion forward world is this leopard print Nike Blazer Mid for women in Dark Gold Leaf, a rustic yellow that’s popped up on a few Fall 2012 releases and looks to be a new color to follow as we head toward autumn. Have a closer look after the jump and find these at Nike Sportswear dealers like Burner.

Nike Blazer Mid PRM – Sail – Midnight Navy

British sneaker specialists Size? aren’t exactly shy when it comes to claiming their Nike Sportswear exclusives, but could they possibly be the ghostwriter behind this new Blazer release? It’s a reasonable question when you see the Nike Blazer Mid Premium in Sail leather, a VNTG-detailed style that Size? had dominated during that series’ four year run by offering the majority of its leather releases, including Sail joints with both royal and black Swooshes. So even if Size? isn’t behind these, this particular style was almost inevitable, and represents one of the back-to-school go-to looks that just hit Caliroots.

Nike Blazer Mid PRM Suede “Gorge Green”

Nike Sportswear has gone and tinkered with the Blazer nomenclature yet again, but it doesn’t really matter what you call this silhouette when it looks this good. The Nike Blazer Mid Premium Suede is constructed just like the VNTG series Highs that’ve dropped in a rainbow of colors over the past four years, except for the use of black Swooshes, sockliners, heels and tongues instead of the commonly used Sail shade of off-white. The result is a considerably higher contrast to the Gorge Green suede, so even if these do keep the Vintage pre-yellowed soles and unfinished nylon tongues, they’re most definitely a breath of fresh air. New photos after the jump detail all the subtle shifts, then you can grab yours from NSW stockists like Caliroots.

nike hoop pack 2005 Classics Revisited: Nike Basketball Hoop Pack (2005)

NIKE PACK WEEK

With Nike’s Retro Basketball line being such a major topic this year, it’s time we focus on one of the most concentrated Nike Basketball releases ever – the Nike ‘Hoop’ Pack of late 2005. Some may have overlooked these classics primarily because these were released exclusively overseas, so if you needed a reminder, there’s no better time than now. The Nike ‘Hoop’ Pack features a number of Nike Basketball models new and old ranging from the earliest Nike Blazer, to the new models like the Air Force Operate and Shox MTX. Sprinkled in between are other Classic models like the Air Force 180, Air Max Penny, and Air More Uptempo, but let’s break down this Pack even further.

The Nike ‘Hoop’ Pack was developed with a select group of NBA players in mind, with their teams acting as the maestros of each symphonic piece. The Air More Uptempo, which we attribute to Scottie Pippen, featured a re-mixed Chicago Bulls colorway with a daring Red upper and black patent leather on the big ‘AIR’. Penny Hardaway’s Air Max Penny threw in a contrasting University Blue in the classic Orlando, while four models featured the blazing Phoenix Suns colorway as the centerpiece. Being overseas exclusives (some released in Canada), the Hoop Pack was a tough find – particularly the lesser-known models like Tony Parker’s Air Double Figure (the Zoom Huarache 2k5 takedown model) and the aforementioned Shox MTX (Matrix, for Shawn Marion). Check out the entire Nike Hoop Pack of late 2005 below and stay tuned for more Pack goodness tomorrow in Classics Revisited!

Nike Blazer Mid PRM Suede

Nike Sportswear is using the conventions of their Vintage Blazer series and the VNTG lineup in general on this latest round of drops for the third quarter. We just saw a new Nike Blazer High VNTG that added not only a color other than Sail in contrast, but also a tumbled texture on the Swoosh that seems almost too pristine for the VNTG-indicating pre-yellowed sole and classic orange-Swooshed tongue tags. This new Challenge Red edition goes even a step further, keeping the unfinished 1973 original tongue design but adding a bright blue to the tag’s base. Paired with the fresh material/color pairing, an oxidized sole and promoted by NSW shops like End without the ‘VNTG’ tag, these are an amalgamation of classic styles ready to release this July.

Nike WMNS Blazer Mid – Anthracite – Zebra

February 26th, 2012 by | No comments

nike wmns blazer mid anthracite zebra 1 570x427 Nike WMNS Blazer Mid Anthracite Zebra

What we saw from the most recent Nike WMNS Blazer Mid revelation on Friday was fairly standard by this point in history: Nike Sportswear took a material and colorblocking pattern that worked to perfection and duplicated it in another palette.  The shift on this latest pair is a bit more pronounced, but they still fit in with the sherling-lined editions thanks to a partially VacTech-molded upper.  But instead of suede and flowers on the heel tab, these opt for a cracked leather upper plus zebra striping that gives this new edition a more rugged appeal that’s also decidedly less winter-friendly.  In other words, another fresh take on the grey sneakers that have been so huge in the past few years, and you can see more images after the jump.  via Pyrophilly
