NIKE BLAZER MID The Nike Blazer Mid is a slightly altered version of the Nike Blazer High, the first of Nike’s foray into the world of basketball sneakers together with the Bruin. The Nike Blazer Mid features a smoother side wall on the rubber midsole along with a strip of foxing running along the base of the upper in comparison to the Nike Blazer High. The Nike Blazer Mid remains the less retro’d of these two closely related sneakers.

2011 was the year that the medial-zippered Nike Blazer Mid AB made its debut, so fitting to see one of the new drops for the spring ’12 season releasing a bit early to make it in as one of this year’s final releases. This new Blazer Mid AB comes to us in a rough Cargo Khaki suede whose earhtiness is enhanced by tonal laces and similarly-colored zipper that differs from the brass style showed off in earlier previews. There’s also a black pair on the way with a similar setup, but it’s the olive edition you’ll see in a new series of images after the jump because that’s the one that’s available right now at Nike Harajuku.

90′s babies may have to sit this one out but hopefully not-as all of you oughta be familiar with ‘The Glove’, and no we’re not talking about the upcoming Gary Payton retro. Imitating the ever so gaudily sequenced glove that first popped up on Michael Jackson’s hand in his Motown 25 performance, sneaker customizer extraordinaire JBF puts together another hit with this Nike Blazer Mid redux. The pair nails the colors and the disco ball look, using the all over treatment to black out the Nike branding on the heel tab and tongue tag. Maybe just a bit too flashy to really rock, these stand out nonetheless as a great tribute to the fallen pop culture icon. Check out the rest of the images after the jump and let us know where they stand amongst the rest of JBF’s killer custom creations.

For several years now, Nike has honored Black History Month with special sneaker releases, this year’s pack so substantial that it stretched across Nike, Inc. brand lines to include classic Converses and Air Jordans. It remains to be seen if we’ll see another BHM Air Jordan Retro, but the list from Nike’s Basketball and Sportswear divisions is starting to shape up now that we know at least six of the models confirmed for a February release. On the cutting edge, we’ll be seeing the Nike LeBron 9, Zoom Kobe VII and Zoom KD IV in BHM attire — the first time all three of Nike Basketball’s signatures will come together in black and gold. The first BHM LeBrons are joined on the Sportswear side of things by the Air Force 1 Low we’ve come to expect each year, plus the Air Max 1 and Blazer Mid. Let us know which one you’d most like to see in black and gold and stick with Sneaker News for updates including images of each pair and their release dates. via HC.

It’s the Air Force 1 and Dunk Highs that Nike Sportswear have favored in recent months when it comes to creating boot-based hybrid designs, but don’t forget that another, older model was the one to initially carve that trail. And while the Nike Blazer Mid ACG ‘Outdoor Pack’ isn’t nearly as rugged as the Air Magma-inspired edition or the Pendleton collaboration from 2008, they do manage to nail the outdoorsy theme thanks to details like the ticked corded laces, hook eyelets on the top loop and two colorways you’d expect to see from any sneaker brand’s nature-oriented releases. Check out brown suede and black nubuck pairs in greater detail after the jump, then get ready for these to hit select NSW retailers in January. via HS

When the Dunk High VT added an vulcanized sole, it also went back a bit from the full-vacuum look found on the cupsole model, adding a bit more traditional stitching than any of Nike Sportswear’s other VacTech releases. A similar mixed application can be found on the also-autoclaved Nike Blazer Mid VT, a model whose simple lines have been sublimated, save the classically styled eye plackets. It’s an impressive look for this veteran now in its fifth decade of service, and one that has us wondering if Anthracite suede will soon be joined by additional colors. Stick with Sneaker News to find out, but in the meantime, click through to see more angles and look for yours at NSW spots like Afew.

Over the years, the number of Nike Sportswear collaborations have been on the steady decrease. However, street-wear brand Stussy has steadily remained a go-to partner for special releases – and a quick look back on the Stussy x Nike history, you’ll see that it was one partnership worth keeping around. In addition to Nike collabs, Stussy’s done some work with a number of other footwear labels, and recently Sneakermuseum in Cologne, Germany, played host to a sick exhibition displaying a retrospective of Stussy collaborations over the years. A great display of its notable Nike projects, from the Air Huarache Light to the most recent Sky Forces, were all available for viewing at this unique sneaker-centric event, to which the event-goers rocked their own personal favorite kicks (like the Air Yeezy and the CT x Air Max 90 Hyperfuse ‘Infrared’). Check out a recap of the exhibit below and let us know what you favorite Stussy x Nike collaboration is! via sneakerb0b.

Some six centuries after their decline, the Aztecs are back and ready to make a conquest of their own, only this time, instead of taking back their land from Spanish invaders, it’s an Aztec invasion aimed squarely at Beaverton, Oregon. That’s where you’ll find the Nike Sportswear archives taken over by the‘Aztec Pack’ that seems to keep on expanding from every angle, this time adding one new colorway and one new lowtop to round out the Nike Blazer ‘Aztec’ offerings at three. There’s the ‘Aztec’ Blazer Mid we showed you about two weeks ago, and now a Low in that same style plus an additional darker pair of Mids with black Swooshes. You can see all three pairs by clicking on the jump below, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for all of the Nike Aztec Pack release dates. via FRESHNESS

Sneaker customizer Sharp020 has, to this point in history, been noted for working with the Nike SB Dunk, but that changes today with this new pair that can be seen to borrow equally from two models separated by roughly two decades. The Nike Blazer Mid ‘Yuka’ custom takes the classic ankle-high Blazer silhouette and applies a red-on-white stitch radiating from the anterior foxing to imitate the late 19th and early 20th century Japanese military flags. This design also served as inspiration to the Air Jordan XII, whose ‘Rising Sun’ colorway can be seen as just a degree or two away from this one. We’ve also profiled ‘Space Jam’ Blazer SB customs here on Sneaker News; which is the best Air Jordan-inspired custom Blazer? via N-SB
