An SB staple for just about three years now, the Nike Bruin returned to the more general Beaverton fold as a Sportswear division release this spring as five new Vintage colorways hit the scene. This one doesn’t carry the VNTG tag or its traditional pre-yellowed laces/sole, but the unfinished nylon tongue and its orange-Swooshed, cursive-branded tongue tag are both typical of the already-loved look some gobble up while others think of as a four-letter word. Perforated Khaki suede pushes this venture in between vintage and deadstock further down its uniquely defined path, and at the end we get an April 2012 release pre-selling at CrookedTongues that’ll remain eminently wearable until they become a ‘true’ vintage item.

The Nike Bruin may be forced to play second fiddle to its cousin the Blazer at times, but that’s no excuse for you to sleep on these minimal suede lowtops. While the model has enjoyed a decent tenure under the Nike SB wing, which peaked when Supreme spruced up a few pairs back in ’09, the shoe doesn’t pop up too often beyond the SB realm. Retro fans have cause to rejoice now though, as 2012 will see a crop of Nike Bruins with the VNTG touch, a treatment that seems to be gradually toning down perhaps in response to community reaction. Follow us after the jump for a full look at this grey and black Bruin and hit up mita sneakers to grab them before they hit the US.

Nike seems eager to make sure that you stay laced in Swooshes when it comes to selecting low cut old-school models to rock in the coming months. The Nike Pre Montreal Racer is now readily available, the Nike Cortez is getting some new looks, and of course the Nike Bruin is back as well with the VNTG look. The three new pairs of the Nike Bruin VNTG we’ve got a look at here come in sort of an RGB pack, albeit with the slightly faded suede tones on the uppers registering them not quite bright. Follow us after the jump for a full look at these which are starting to pop up overseas at spots like Nike Harajuku.

Here’s another anachronistic case of the Nike Bruin, born a year before the initial crop of Blazers were released, set to follow in its higher-cut younger cousin’s footsteps. First it was on the Nike SB roster where the Bruin has come to enjoy a spot in the regular Swoosh skateboarding rotation alongside a variety of vulc and cupsoled Blazers, and now in the Sportswear division and a style in which we’ve seen the Blazer High more than any other model. These Vintage Bruins come with the same lightly pre-yellowed soles, suede uppers and white leather Swooshes we’ve come to expect from the VNTG Blazer line, green, black and purple colorways now available for pre-order in advance of their January ship date from End.
