Sneaker News has shown you a variety of winter-ready Nike OMS styles over the past few weeks, and today comes word of a new pack guaranteed to draw a ton of additional attention to the new Off Mountain System. The S&S Capsule Collection brings together established partners Stussy and Swoosh Action Sports for new collabo colorways on the Nike Dunk High Winter OMS, Lunar Braata OMS and Mogan II OMS. Representing ‘Snow’, ‘Sand’ and ‘Street’, respectively, these three models celebrate how both brands take the path less traveled.

We’ve seen Nike apply winterized touches to a few popular designs this season, attaching an ‘OMS’ designation as an identifier for details like rugged traction patterns, boot lacing setups and earthy colorways. But while we’re still waiting to find out exactly what that acronym means, a new pair has just dropped with a name that makes us wonder if we can just drop the confusion altogether. The Nike Dunk High Winter is reminiscent of the earliest generation of Nike Sport Culture hybrid styles (most notably 2007′s Trainer Dunk), and reminds us how this modular design movement has moved beyond Frankensteining into some highly functional boot hybrids over the past few years. Nike Sportswear has given us a variety of boot-infused styles including the ACG Lava Dunk hybrid, but one must look back a few more years to find the roots for this latest drop. The Nike Dunk High OMS is the culmination of a couple of ideas that came to fruition under the now-defunct Sport Culture division in 2006. The OMS Winter Dunk is like a combination of one of the earliest modern hybrids in the Trainer Dunk, crossed with the rugged winterized stylings of a plaid-lined, hiking-styled Dunk High Premium from that same year. Combining a rugged Free-style sole with outdoorsy lacing and tough-to-the-touch materials like ripstop nylon, this Anthracite/Atomic Green Winter Dunk is available now from NSW retailers like Gloryhole.
