Some new detailed images of this under-the-radar collaboration of Nike Dunk Highs with mastermind Japan; these basic colorways of the Dunk are fashioned with some incredible details, like the bold mastermind branding on the heel and the skull logos on the custom tongue labels, but another hidden feature of these Premium-grade Dunk Highs is the use of the ubiquitous camo print on the insoles of the shoes. A release has already gone down at select spots in Asia, but look for these to start appearing at other choice retails soon. Looking back at 2012 – are these the best and/or most underrated Dunks of the year?

Crafted in premium leather with just black white and grey and featuring some of the most conspicuous co-branding we’ve seen since fragment design fell silent, Mastermind Japan’s first Nike Sportswear collaboration is a study in contrasts. The Mastermind x Nike Dunk High Premium pack brings forth two classic Swoosh basketball silhouettes in styles that have an aggression similar to what you might expect from a big-time college basketball game, but channeled through the Japanese fashion label’s sinister signature look. New shots awaiting your click below give a better view of what the sole looks like among other details, so take a closer look and let us know if you’re considering one of the pairs from this past Saturday’s release, currently on eBay currently in the $550+ range.

The Nike Dunk High took a bit of a backseat in 2012 as older brother Air Force 1 celebrated a huge milestone with tons of heat, but finishing off the year with a super-limited collaboration suggests good things to come for this Swoosh basketball pillar. Bringing along a Japanese brand whose black/white stylings have previously graced Converse and Vans collaborations, this Dunk High Premium two-pack by mastermind JAPAN plays with glossiness and makes its presence obvious with huge heel branding. They’ll be on sale at select Japanese retailers this Saturday; does this kind of collabo have what it takes to make an impact on the US market as well?

Last week, Sneaker News showed you a new Nike Dunk High in Port Wine and Dark Team Red that resembled the ‘Plum’ style we’ve seen reprised a couple times in the recent past. Turns out this style itself has been revisited, as there appears to be a newer version that’s making its way to Nike Sportswear retailers. And this time, instead of white on the Swoosh, midsole and laces, this new Dunk High opts for a creamy Light Bone shade that further softens the berry shades surrounding it. Let us know which version you prefer after checking out more images below and grab these today from Eastbay.

Dunk releases from Nike Sportswear show signs of once again picking up steam after 1985′s collegiate player of the year rode the bench for a minute while older brother Air Force 1 killed it in 2012. This new Nike Dunk High proves there’s still plenty more we haven’t seen, as a dual-layered Swoosh contrasts a black suede/leather mix atop a speckled grey midsole. Grey, white and Sport Turquoise all act like neutrals on this dark base and invite plenty of clothing options, so stick with Sneaker News for release info and check out some more images below in the meantime.

With the only pairs we’ve previewed in recent months dropping all the way back in December, Nike Sportswear has given the Dunk High a new push thanks to 2013 previews and this nice surprise that just arrived at select retailers. The Nike Dunk High in Port Wine has a definite ‘Plum’ look about it thanks to the reddish-purples and their white accents, but this one is arguably even cleaner than last September’s Nike SB release (itself, revisiting a classic Dunk Low Pro B) thanks to a few changes to the blocking template. These rock the colors you see only in traces through the anthocyanin-heavy autumn leaves which means they fit right into your F/W rotation and are available right now at Social Status.

Sneaker News showed you a unique combination of materials distributed across an upcoming Nike Dunk High last week; did you happen to wonder what that template might look like with different colors? Pictured above is a new pair that trades the aforementioned pair’s cool blues for a greyscale spectrum of black, grey and white (including the midsoles, naturally) that reaps substantial benefits from the depth of color in the denim sections. This material along with smooth and perforated leathers plus a bit of suede makes these a unique choice for spring, and you can see more photos below in advance of the January 2013 release date.

Nike Sportswear has given its Dunk duo a bit of a breather after with the Air Force 1′s 30th birthday blowout taking center stage, so even the few pairs that do release are fairly subdued in stature. This one too in its construction, a new Nike Dunk High whose combination and distribution of suede, denim and (perforated) leather is indeed a novel mixture, its cool colors keeping things fairly low-key. Along with the unique build on these new Dunk Highs, we get our first explicitly labeled look at the new Blackened Blue shade set to debut for Q1 2013, so have a closer look below and pre-order this January drop from Inflammable.
