Kids sizes and iD creations not withstanding, the Nike Dunk Low has been very quiet compared to its periods of peak activity. It’s been quite a while since we’ve examined a good old pair of ‘CLs’ here on Sneaker News, but it’s clear that the Dunk’s strengths still ring true. This latest colorway is similar to a release we profiled a few months back, in that both utilize black leather uppers and red contrasts. This new style stands out with its bold colorblocking, including a red run up the middle of tongue, laces and lining that makes a standout among the new styles you’ll find available at Finish Line.

The Liberty of London fabrics are about to hit a ton of fan-favorite models over on NIKE iD. What’s available? You can cook up the Nike Dunk High, Nike Dunk Low, Nike Blazer Mid, Nike Blazer Low, Nike Roshe Run, and Nike Air Max 1 all using the patented floral looks. What’s more the options are available in both men’s and women’s sizing, meaning the days of having to do size-conversion math for the Liberty stuff are apparently out the window. NYLON Guys x Nike Dunk iD

NYLON Magazine partnered up with Nike back in 2009, creating a quintet of neon-blasted Dunk Highs build in a complete nylon-fitted upper (fitting). Today, NYLON will unveil its second overall partnership with Nike Sportswear, using Nike iD as the vehicle to launch nine different colorways of the Nike Dunk High designed by notable fashion influencers around the world. In addition to NYLON’s editor-in-chief and four of its editors, notable industry cogs in London, Paris, Japan, and Los Angeles have penned distinct Nike iD designs of the Dunk in both High and Low fashion. Better yet, the nine shoes are set to release directly through Nike iD today, with price-tags of $140 and $150 attached to the Low and High, respectively. We’ve got a preview of two of the final colorways below, with Vashtie rocking the purple high-tops, so take a look and keep an eye on Nike iD for a quickstrike release today.

Nike Dunk iD “Be True” 2013 Samples

Recent years have seen the original Nike Dunk ‘Be True’ slogan evolve from ‘…to Your School’ as in the Original 7 to more of a statement on the authenticity of the iconic series. These latest ‘Be True’ Nike Dunk iD samples aren’t exact replicas of those pioneering universities, but instead the rarely iD’d Lows in that old school BTTYS two-toned blocking pattern and Highs that reflect one of the more popular modern blocking templates. Nike Seamless Dunk – Unreleased Sample

Not that the Nike Dunk needs a revival of any kind, but it has taken a backseat to the Air Force 1 over the last couple of years. Perhaps Nike Sportswear is taking a slower approach with some Anniversary plans like a Dunk-XXX celebration in 2016, but this 2006 sample gives some insight into some cancelled plans of a brand-new Dunk that might’ve changed the way we looked at this classic basketball shoe. Here’s a look an unreleased sample of the Nike Seamless Dunk, built completely without seams (duh) and fortified with a composite material to make up the classic silhouette of the shoe. Those pieces are also independent of one another, and some areas like the outer toe-box and heel have thicker and deeper ridges for added protection in high-wear zones, so were these intended to be a skate shoe? Nike Dunk Low GS “Rainbow Dot” Pack

Before patterned prints rose to dominate the sneaker world over the past couple years, Nike Sportswear made fairly extensive use of polka dots on the Dunk family. This activity peaked from 2008-10 and hasn’t been much of a factor as the animals and florals of the world rose to prominence of late, but today we see two new Nike Dunk Low GS designs with a multicolored dot anchor. With red, yellow and two shades of blue colored microdots on black or white leather bases, these manage a skillful balance of eye-catching and fundamental, and you can see more after the jump below.

Nike Dunk Low GS “Year of the Snake” – Black – Silver – Gold

Sneaker News just mentioned that the Nike Dunk Low for kids is one of NSW’s longest running Chinese New Year traditions, and now we see that next year’s iteration has at least two different styles on tap. This second ‘Year of the Snake’ Dunk Low GS features fewer scales than its white/black counterpart, but the mix of silver and gold tones on this one might actually be a bit more eye-catching overall.
