Looks like the Nike Elite will step up to fill the 1980s suede and nylon role for Nike Sportswear here shortly. With upcoming VNTG and Tape releases, the Elite is in a position to battle New Balance and adidas Originals classics, and now we see even more on the way. This latest colorway is a timeless mix of Pure Platinum and Wolf Grey with an Electric Orange Swoosh and just a hint of blue. The Nike Elite has enjoyed a couple of retro runs in recent years, but there’s still room to expand the variety of colorways. In this case, we see the old school runner adopt a shift in construction, as the Elite Tape adds piping around all the stitching areas. This Night Stadium mesh makeup adds Sport Turquoise branding and Cool Grey tape to arrive at the finish line with a vibrant look you can see in more shots below before buying at Nike Sportswear dealers like Titolo.

‘Nike Elite‘ is a phrase that we’d naturally associate with Beaverton’s basketball division after last year’s NBA Playoffs (and don’t forget about the superb socks either), which took place around the same time we last saw the classic runner by that name. Returning with pre-yellowed soles and scuffed Swooshes, the Elite VNTG rocks a tonal green upper whose lime nylon base hearkens back to the ’70s, but whose overall composition speaks to the lessons learned in recent years by Nike Sportswear’s brilliant color composers. Stick with Sneaker News to see if these are accompanied by any packmates and check out more photos below in the meantime.

Nike Sportswear just debuted the Elite No-Sew in two colorways: one echoing today’s infatuation with vibrantly accented grey palettes and another taken straight from the 1976 original. The Nike Elite VNTG goes even further with these new ‘BRS Collection’ drops that celebrate the Blue Ribbon Sports formally changing its name to Nike two years after its their debut. You’ll see more images of the purple/blue/red and green/orange/white pairs after the jump below, and their classic suede and nylon builds are both available now, exclusively from British sneaker specialists Size?

There’s a modern Zoom-cushioned series by the same name now in its fifth iteration, but without the original from 1976, neither it nor any of the hundreds in between would have been possible. The Nike Elite continues its comeback with this University of Oregon Ducks colorup combining Gorge and Court Greens with yellow on the branding and heel wedge. The Wolf Grey laces and midsole give these a slightly more balanced look than the typical ‘varsity’ style for which that era is remembered and does a nice job of bridging nearly forty years of Nike Running. New colorways of the above pictured model not only indicate its position at the front of the pack of a certain class of old school runners, but also the creeping pace at which Nike Sportswear has chosen to issue them. The once rare Nike Elite now seems poised for a serious retro run, these two new colorways today beat the trio we previewed last week to retail (expect those for Q2). Today’s releases have a fresh feel about them, one that differs from the simpler upcoming joints but still manages a timeless quality of its own. That same mix of time-tested freshness is on display with the ever popular bred colorway and another that captures the Knicks/Cavs look that’s been blowing up in recent months. Check out both of them up close after the jump and grab yours at NSW stores like SNS.

When news that both Brazil and France’s football governing bodies were both involved with Nike Sportswear collaborations this year, it would have been natural to assume some kind of mutual theme. But the French releases came and went with a couple of dope Dunk Highs and the CBF edition seemed to get caught up in the ever-expanding ‘True Colors’ collection, so while these two new pairs are a surprise, this in and of itself is something we’ve come to expect. Check out the Nike Air Pegasus ’83 and Elite classic runners done up in a French colorway with French Football Federation tongue tags. These joints cleverly walk a line between old school running aesthetics and the Tricolour and you can see more images of both when you click on the jump below. Leave a comment to let us know which is best and grab one or both of them today from AsphaltGold.
