The Nike Eric Koston 2 will release on April 1st of 2013. The sneaker should be arriving right when the snow expires for skaters in the less-lucky regions of the US that actually have to deal with winter. On deck for its debut are three colorways that all keep things in line with the clean looks we’ve come to expect from Koston’s relatively young line. Check out the Nike Eric Koston 2 in its initial trio right after the jump and look for the sneakers to release on April 1st of this year.

The Nike Eric Koston 2 looks to move things forward in the skate sneaker realm, which will let Koston himself leapfrog over team rider Stefan Janoski in the signature race (strictly in terms of number of designs that is). The upcoming model will stay true to the slimmed down silhouette that made his first sneaker such a hit. Pictured here are two more colorways to look forward to, a blue and a green that each receive a speckle treatment lining the midsole. Continue reading for a better view of the sneakers and stay tuned with us to find out when they will make their way to your local skate shop.

As quiet in its approach to the next round of releases as the design is elegant, Eric Koston’s second Nike Skateboarding signature is scheduled to arrive at retailers in 2013.  The Nike Eric Koston 2 picks up where the first left off, adding a bit more detail to a still-sleek upper design by way of side panel ventilation slits and a diamond lattice texture on the externally visible heel counter.  LunarLon makes another appearance as the cushioning platform of choice so you’re guaranteed a comfortable ride; will the pink-branded black suede edition pictured in more detail below make it into your rotation this year?

Paul Rodriguez has made it work for several years and is now beyond two, Stefan Janoski excels with both low and midtop designs and now it’s Eric Koston’s turn to have multiple Nike Skateboarding footwear styles on store shelves concurrently.  Look for that next spring, when the Nike Eric Koston 2 joins its prequel at select retailers in a variety of no-nonsense colorways like the four collected pairs we have to show you here today.  Here we see three different takes on a basic template for the Koston 2, as the upper is cast in one color suede with an accent for branding and an off-colored sole (check the red/white pair closely for its midsole speckles).  Meanwhile the Zoom Koston One comes through in a new canvas colorup which features a printed Swoosh to maximize its unique build, so be sure to check back with Sneaker News for release info.

New York City is a mecca for many things. Basketball – check. Cultural diversity – for centuries. Art and music – you’ll find it everywhere. Skating – darn right. Over the last decade, Nike Skateboarding has enjoyed a meteoric rise from one of the most followed ‘cult’ sectors of the Swoosh to a rock-solid roster of Action Sports superstars, but the ‘how they got there’ hasn’t been much explored.

Nike Skateboarding kicked off a day-long exploration of the NYC skating scene by way of personal tours guided by the Nike Skateboarding team, giving the media an unforeseen insight into the daily routines of the skating stars while revealing some of their beginnings into the sport and how they came to join forces with Nike. We started at the Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, took in a show at the Coleman Skate Park under the Manhattan Bridge, and finished off the day with a sick showcase and Nike Eric Koston 2 unveiling in the Chinatown/Financial District border. Continue on for a recap of the day’s events, a chat with Stefan Janoski, and an interview with Eric Koston and Koston 2 designer Shawn Carboy below.
