With last week’s Poison Green release, all of the Nike Flight ’13 Mids we’d seen previewed have hit retail. Here’s something to look forward to, as we see this sleeper hit take on its most expressive colorway to date. Combining University Red, black and Stadium Grey, the Flight ’13 coming up later this year has a bit of overlap with the hotly anticipated ‘Fire Red Nubuck’ Air Jordan IV. We never saw a Flight ’89 quite like this, so it’s sure to be a popular drop; the only question is when? Stick with Sneaker News to find out, and check out some more images below in the meantime.

The Nike Flight ’13 Mid made its first appearance this February in three colorways. The first two have released, and today we’re happy to report the third, though we hope not the last. This white, Stadium Grey and Poison Green colorway is a perfect blend of summer 2013 and classic Nike Basketball, including a Cement-ish splatter on the sole that like the Air Flight ’89, it has in common with the Air Jordan IV. Have a closer look below, let us know if this is the best Flight ’13 yet and grab yours at Nike Sportswear stores like Caliroots.

The first colorways are arriving at retail now, so let’s take a closer look at the not quite new, not quite retro Nike Flight ’13 Mid. The Flight 13 is indeed a brand new release from Nike Sportswear debuting for the summer 2013 season (and arriving early at select retailers), but just as the box label and tongue script call to the legendary late ’80s/early ’90s Nike Basketball series that spawned among others the Air Jordan IV and Nike Air Flight Huaraches, its lines hearken back to the golden era. Let us know how these compare to the first colorup as well as the still popular Air Flight ’89 after you’ve seen more below, then grab the Bright Citrus-highlighted Flight ’13 Mid from Caliroots.

Nike Sportswear’s classic Air Flight ’89 one of the more enduring retro basketball models in the 25-and-under category. It’s been out in more colorways than the Air Jordan IV with which it’s so often linked in recent years and now that enthusiasm spills over into a new faux-retro design. The Nike Flight ’13 Mid takes cues from the late ’80s including that AJ4-style tooling, but makes clear with its tongue embroidery that this isn’t some quarter-century-old forgotten gem. Black, grey, white and blue is a timeless combo that’s integrated nicely with speckled sections, and you can see more below before grabbing yours at NSW retailers starting March 20th, nearly two months ahead of the earlier projection.

Nike Sportswear’s Air Flight ’89 has been a sneakerhead favorite in recent years, thanks to its impeccable golden era design, similarity to the supremely popular Air Jordan IV and co-signs from influential celebrities like Kanye West. NSW has taken note of the popularity of this model a quarter-century after its debut and issued an update, with the Nike Flight ’13 Mid serving as a fresh take on basketball aesthetics from the hair metal age. The Flight ’13 makes the AJ4-style midsole speckling a key component for the first three fairly subdued colorways; have a closer look below while we wait on the May 2013 shipment.
