The mixture of Nike Air Max and Nike Flyknit technologies is one that will continue via two separate avenues. There is the application of Air Max bags to traditional Flyknit models, as seen on the Nike Lunarmax Flyknit Chukka, and then there is the application of Fyknit uppers to more modern bags, like on the Nike Flyknit Air Max here. The good news is that there are more to come, Nikestore is planning to roll out four of them for May 2014 and this appears to be that set. See the shoes after the break (The first is a men’s while the rest are women’s) and tell us in the comments if any of these Nike Flyknit Air Maxes will be yours.

When initially announced, the fact that the Swoosh was going to be morphing the patented Air Max technology and their new school flyknit woven look into the same model definitely created a buzz. But lately, the Nike Flyknit Air Max has been a little quiet for these winter months, but luckily the silhouette will be returning just in time for summer. Things have been sort of quiet for the Nike Flyknit Air Max lately, as a good amount more attention seems to be being paid to marrying the Flyknit tech with the Nike Free line instead. The Tinker vs Tobie battle over the Knit tech continues with this new round of Nike Air Max x Nike Flyknit pairs that you can expect for Summer 2014. There are men’s and women’s pairs in the group, some of which we’ve seen before and some of which are being spotted for the first time ever here. nike air max history Nike Details the History of Air Max Sneakers

The Nike Air technology was one that had been floating around in Nike’s sole kits for years before the Air Max tooling made its debut. The brand knew that they had a cushioning platform superior to their competitors, but they just needed a way to show it off. You know the story from there: Tinker Hatfield visited the Georges Pompidou center in Paris and his revelation started a revolution. Wieden+Kennedy showed off the sneakers in the controversial “Revolution” spot and the blazing bright red sneakers started to show up on the feet of runners around the world.

The Nike Flyknit range is one that’s grown up quite a bit in the short two years that it’s been around. At this point you can spot that technology on everything from runners to lifestyle shoes to basketball models (Wee see you, Kobe 9 Elite). Of course the proprietary Knit was first introduced via the running category, so you can bet it won’t ever leave that one. Linking up with another iconic Nike tech is the Nike Flyknit Air Max, which is shown here in a brand new women’s colorway. Often when Nike mixes various types of technology that they have at their disposal, interesting things happen, and new innovative models are born. This Nike WMNS Flyknit Air Max, for instance, combines (as the shoe’s title suggests) Air Max technology in the sole with Flyknit on the upper. Though the shoe’s upper is mostly dressed in a light blue, the most striking aspect of this colorway is the gradient effect that starts as red in the front and changes to a volt green towards the back. This gradient effect is not only contained in the sole, but also bleeds into the Flyknit above it. Let us know in the comments if you like what Nike did with these and stay with Sneaker News for more.
