Nike Sportswear’s Footscape series has diverged into two distinct paths over the past few years, both of which feature flexible, barefoot-mimicking outsoles for superior comfort. On the Chukka side of things, the Motion sole provides a bit of extra support and its relatively bulky build balances the higher vamp nicely. For the heir to the Air Footscape throne, the Nike Footscape Free relies on a more ‘naked’ approach, though ostensibly, this greyscale camouflage print was intended to conceal something. That conceptual interplay makes for the kind of satisfying look NSW lifestyle fans have come to know and love, so act fast before this Quickstrike is gone from retailers like Caliroots.

‘Vibrant red camouflage’ is something of an oxymoron and most definitely not the truest example of a ‘concealment’ pattern, but then again, the Footscape was never designed to blend in. Toren Orzeck’s ode to the alternative ’90s was overshadowed at first by Sergio Lozano’s submission to the Mount Rushomre of sneakers, but just as the latter 1995 alum has only grown in popularity since its release, the Footscape line has expanded to fill a niche. It started with Japanese tastemakers and has most recently accompanied some of Nike Sportswear’s most daring work, these new Nike Footscape Frees being no exception. Deep red ‘camo’ isn’t sneaking up on anyone, though you will have the mobility bestowed by Free soles should you need to make a quick getaway. Check these out after the jump, let us know how they compare to the plainer styles we previewed for the holiday season and stick with Sneaker News for release info. via Kasina

The Footscape Free came through in a black and Sail Quickstrike back in March; might an even nicer pair in the same simple colorway have been saved for summer? You’ll be the judge, but either way, there’s no denying the simple pleasure that is this new Nike Footscape Free+ Premium duo. A black and Summit White edition joins a Khaki pair in utilizing luxurious caramel leather sockliners, both pairs denoting their exceptional quality with the ‘NSW’ tongue tag we’ve seen on a variety of top-tier designs this spring. Look through some images of both pairs after the jump to decide which you like best, then grab them from NikeStore.

The masses got a good dosage of the Footscape style last year via the Nike Free Run 2+, a mainstream runner that adopted that oddball asymmetric style of lacing on its birdcage like upper. 2012 is serving up another intersection between those two: the Nike Footscape Free, a NSW model that has wasted no time in cranking out quite a few different looks to switch things up over that nubbed outsole, among them camo, premium leather, and the so-called sawtooth here. Stay with us after the jump for some high res shots of this angular design and if you like what you see then head over to SNS to pick up either pair from the Nike Footscape Free ‘Sawtooth Pack’ right now.

The first pairs hit around the turn of the year and were followed by Quickstrike and Tier Zero releases as well as ‘Sawtooth’ previews, but the past three months or so have been quiet ones for the Nike Footscape Free. Luckily for fans of this ‘barefoot’ take on a Swoosh lifestyle icon, this appears to have been one of those cases where Nike Sportswear was just quietly readying another set soon to arrive. Another black/white pair echoing the success of March’s QS drop will be joined by one in wine and another that utilizes quite a few shades of grey on an AFE-like camo print. The ‘Sawtooth’ Pack is an unexpected visual punch even from this series known for its avant garde approach, and the Premium pairs are downright impressive with their top-notch materials, so what about a ‘plain’ Nike Footscape Free? This one would have to be the most basic you’ll find, its colorway lacking any sort of accent shade in favor of the stark black/white look that’s sold so well this season. Check these out up close after the jump and let us know if you’ll be grabbing these from a Nike Sportswear retailer like Caliroots.

After a 2011 that emphasized the Woven and Chukka variations to the exclusion of the more basic composition, Nike’s avant garde Footscape series positioned itself for a return in 2012 by debuting the Nike Footscape Free this spring. And after a couple of colorways done in the OG style, previews emerged depicting a couple of top-end luxury builds that go with neutral uppers, white soles and leather liners for quality you can feel from a distance. This pair pictured above opts for an earthy sand brown that leans toward green in the right light, a rustic pairing you can examine in greater detail after the jump below. Let us know how these rank against the black ones that dropped earlier this month and find the new ones at select Nike Sportswear shops soon. via Nike Harajuku
