nike free 5.0 2014 Nike Free 5.0 2014

Sneaker News just showed you how Nike is revisiting the original Free 5.0 runner in a casual form to celebrate a decade of barefoot running.  The series that started it all keeps on going in 2014 with the latest iteration of the Nike Free 5.0 moving forward with a revised take on the Dynamic Flywire build from this current generation.  The new 5.0 Frees use a knit sandwich mesh for superior ventilation, no-sew overlays to keep it light and a revamped sole pattern that’s more like a honeycomb than the traditional quadrilateral units.  Between these and the Hyperfeels, we’re experiencing a renaissance of Free innovation, and you can see more of these below while we wait for the first releases next year.

Nike is dropping another series of “Shield” runners for 2013. If you’re unfamiliar, that designation points to a weather-proof sneaker that usually has its fair share of reflective silver, scotchbrite materials. The Nike Free 5.0 shown definitely delivers on that end. Like a couple of the other runners of that sort we’ve seen in the past couple months, the shoes have a covert animal print that lights up when the light and angle is just right. Flip through a full set of angles for these sneakers after the click and then purchase yours from the team at Premier.

Mixing black with Metallic Silver and Cool Grey plus a bit of unlabeled red at the tongue, this barefoot runner will keep your kids both looking good and moving fluidly throughout the summer. Take a closer look in more images after the jump, then grab yours from retailers like Titolo.

With the revelation of the Free Flyknit and Hyperfeel, earlier Nike Free runners have some serious work ahead of them to keep up with the latest and greatest. The Nike Free 5.0 EXT has a solid plan in embracing the summer season with a trio of gingham-based suede colorways that mimic the checkerboard pattern common to BBQ tablecloths. Black, Dark Grey and Midnight Navy colorups keep things relatively subdued aside from the eye-catching checker, so click through to see more images and stick with Sneaker News to see if this Quickstrike trio releasing this Saturday in Japan makes it to US retailers.
