After an extended quiet period, it looks like the Nike Free Powerlines+ 2 is ready to return to retail.  A new pair pictured above joins the list of January 2014 drops, a royal blue and Dark Grey design that gets its energy from orange pops on the Flywire, tongue and heel and a couple of the natural motion outsole pods.  This is a classic off-road palette that matches that neutral plus complementary-combo made popular on models like the Air Mowabb, so check out the design in more detail below, then cop yours from retailers like Size?

Nike Free Powerlines+ 2 – Grey – Red

The Nike Powerlines II have always had an interesting standing among naming, considering the fact that the second iteration of the silhouette ditched the Dynamic Flywire that was initially responsible for its namesake and instead opted for a perforated upper. Since its release last June, the model has remained low key, but now we get a glimpse of a new colorway featuring a dark grey suede side panel that should be more than ready for the colder months while accents of red add a splash of color.  For more images, stick with us after the click and know that this latest pair of the Nike Free Powerlines+ 2 can be yours by heading to select retailers like Size?.

The Nike Free Powerlines+ II‘s Dynamic Flywire replaced its predecessor’s ribboned build at the start of 2013, so what might be coming up next?  Rumors have it that there might not be a Powerlines 3, so in this olive green edition could turn out to be one of the final iterations of a line that’s perhaps redundant with the latest Free 5.0 offering both of the main pieces of tech in both performance and casual builds.  If these are the last Powerlines 2s, they go out with an autumnal bang, using golden tongue and sockliner and just a bit of grey atop an off-white sole for a completely neutral look that’s perhaps this model’s most wearable colorway to date.  Check out some more photos below and stick with Sneaker News for release info.

Fall seems like a strange time for a sneaker to start sporting suede, doesn’t it? The Nike Free Powerlines II doesn’t seem to care for convention though, as the model is readying another release in the form of this purple suede pair. The titular shade does take a break here and there-there’s what appears to be a little bit of sail coloring for the side Swoosh and the nubbed Nike Free outsole.
