After eighteen months straight on store shelves and a third of that concurrent with its sequel, it’s clear the Nike Free Run+ 2 has uncommon staying power. This lightweight, anatomically correct runner has so much crossover appeal that some of the original colorways from the Quickstrike ‘City Pack’ are being reprised only a year and a half after they debuted. The Pine Green, Anthracite and black styles initially released in limited numbers with tongue tags shouting out Rio de Janeiro, New York and Tokyo, respectively have been de-city’d for wider distribution, as well as equipped with a new rubberized toe bumper for extra durability. So gone are the reflective laces and local colors, and in their place, a potentially more durable style for the masses, and you can see all three individually below before they arrive at select Nike Sportswear dealers soon.

Nike Sportswear continues to squeeze more style out of what is now the immediate predecessor to the current Free Run+ series release, this latest effort applying one of the more memorable two-toned palettes we’ve seen all year. The Nike Free Run+ 2 NSW looks like the Dunkman was finally coronated with the Crown Jewel, its mix of rich Bordeaux with vibrant Volt a novel approach to a sort of ‘Christmas’ color scheme early in the HO12 season. Expect several other new colorways this quarter (these hadn’t shown up as part of a five-pair preview in late August), click through for a closer view of this one and find them available now at NSW stores like Caliroots.

Sneaker trends have been moving in the direction of form-fitted low-profile models like the Air Woven and the various Free-based builds (the Inneva being the perfect amalgam of those two ideas), so these upcoming TZ-grade Nike Free Run 2s should be right up the alley of those who have been eagerly following the aforementioned trend. The Nike Free Run 2 Woven TZ utilizes the Free Run 2 mold, built with an upper composed of a woven base-layer and a leather ‘tendon’ shell (the FR2 is inspired by the anatomy of the human foot). Three great colorways are headed for a release next month, so give them a quick overview below and let us know what you think.

Just how good is the Nike Free Run+ 2? Forget about the fact that just about anywhere you go where people are training with serious mobility in mind or working on their feet, you’re practically guaranteed to see at least one pair. The fact that we’re seeing brand new colorways of this model after its sequel has firmly entrenched itself is nearly unprecedented, and a clear testament to the public demand for more Free Run 2s. Today we see six new styles ranging from bold multicolored woolen designs taking advantage of the layered build, to simpler monochromatic constructions whose speckled soles remind us of the ‘City Pack’ that debuted this model last spring. Click through so you can see which of the six you like best and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability.

Liberty of London has been collaborating with Nike Sportswear with some regularity for a few years now, but never before has the British textile specialist offered such a focused collection of releases. Instead of a variety of different colors and patterns, the Liberty x NSW ‘Lotus Jazz’ pack sticks with that singular namesake pattern, applied in four different ways to a quartet of black/white/neon runners that cover the spectrum from foundational classics to the current LunarLon torchbearer. In order of seniority, we have the Liberty of London x Nike Air Max 1, Free Run+ 2, Lunar Montreal and LunarGlide+ 4 all set to arrive at Liberty’s website and their London flagship on Monday, July 16th, with a wider release to follow at select NSW stockists August 1st. Click through to see the entire collection, let us know which pair came out best and stick with Sneaker News for the latest.

In looking at a white and Varsity Maize Dunk High recently, we noted that their relationship to the iconic ‘Goldenrod’ getup is similar to the progression seen from Lance Armstrong’s LIVESTRONG collaborations with Nike over the years. What started as strictly black and yellow has evolved with whites, greys and the recent addition of Radio Shack reds and even a hint of green every now and again. This new Nike Free Run+ 2 adds blue to that list, keeping the LAF vibe going thanks tot the crisp white base layer and its interplay with the familiar V.Maize, even despite the preponderance of royal. Click through to see more and get your spring training going on the right foot at FinishLine.
