Is it still considered a collaboration if the two companies coming together are corporately linked? The last time Hurley and Nike came together nobody had any qualms about calling it that, and the recent Jordan x Converse pack fit into that category pretty well given the cross section of ideas and branding so we’d say so. The latest is the Hurley x Nike Free Run 3+, a pack that extends beyond the sneakers to dip into something Hurley is a bit more accustomed to with a set of their super popular Phantom board shorts to match. Click through with us to get a look at the pack, which will be impacting at premium NSW doors like 21 Mercer this Saturday, July 14th, and let us know if you’ll be picking up this special Nike Free Run 3+. It’s been over a decade since Nike acquired action sports brand Hurley, but the latter continues to operate autonomously and maintains a distinct identity from Nike and its own in-house action sports label. Last year, Hurley teamed up with Nike Sportswear for one of the sickest Air Max collaborations in recent memory, celebrating the launch of the new Hurley Phantom 4D board short while using the all-new Air Max 90 Hyperfuse as the base. Hurley and Nike join forces again with the Nike Free Run 3+ in a Black/Volt colorway with similar vector-line graphics imposed on the upper; this release, scheduled for July 14th, will come with a volt Hurley shoe-bag and will be priced at $110. Additional photos below, so take a look and let us know what you think!

As synthetic materials have become the default for cutting edge performance models, we’ve seen leather and otherwise de-tech’d casual styles release toward the end of many product cycles. The Air Max+ flagship running series is likely the most prominent example of this trend, but maybe we’ll one day associate that shift even more strongly with the Free Run lineup. That’s because just a few strides out the gate, the Nike Free Run+ 3 is already maximizing its casual appeal with suede and mesh designs reminiscent of golden era runners, this black and Neutral Grey edition an answer to that black/white Free Run 2 from 2011 that proved its timelessness this spring. Click through to get a better view of the latest Free Run 3, then grab yours from select retailers like Concepts.

The Nike Free Run+ 3 made a lasting first impression with a ‘romantic comedy’ of a promo video that demonstrates just how durable your own bare feet can be with the help of a 5.0 sole. The Free Run+ 3 has a tough task ahead of itself when it comes to topping the ubiquitous Free Run 2, but lifestyle-oriented colorways like this largely suede combination of Iguana and Cargo Khaki ensure you’ll start seeing these in more casual settings. Their overall earthiness and speckled soles suggest these can handle your summertime trail runs as well, so check them out after the jump below and get ready to strengthen your body from the floor up with this new drop from Concepts.

The N7 collection represents Nike’s commitment to bring the benefits of sports and active living to North America’s native and aboriginal communities. It’s hard to think of a design that better embodies this goal than one embracing the oldest way to run as a way to strengthen an athlete from the ground up, and with this in mind, the Nike N7 Free Run+ 3 will arrive this Friday, May 25th. Two colorways each offer a focus on one portion of the signature N7 palette, a black mens edition joined by a Dark Turquoise ladies pair that’s all but guaranteed to beat the average for 1.5-ups. Check out both pairs in greater detail below, let us know if you’d have liked to have seen the blue design in mens sizes and let us know if this new drop will make its way onto this weekend’s sneaker shopping list.

The 2007 release of the Academy Award winning romantic comedy Juno preceded the massive move toward collaborative design that’s pervaded the sneaker industry over these past few years, though it’s subject matter would have meant that only the most independently-minded companies would have gotten behind it. Then again, we see shades of Ellen Page’s signature role all over this new ‘I Would Run to You’ spot from Nike Running, a video depicting a male/female call-and-response pattern involving a distance run and, you guessed it, a sappy love song. About halfway through, the plot takes an interesting twist and yet the music just keeps on going and those Nike Free Run+ 3s never miss a step; how do you motivate yourself for those gruelling runs? Let us know when you click through to see the video in full, and if there’s a special sneakerhead out there for whom you’d run coast to coast.

Since its inception the Nike Free line has always had the goal of emulating the natural motion of the foot front and center. That goal is kept in mind with 2012′s new trio of the Nike Free Run+ 3, the Nike Free 3.0, and the Nike Free 4.0 all of which were designed by Mark Miner. In this quick video series Miner breaks down the the design process a little bit, detailing the difficulties in maintaining the notion of natural motion while introducing the Dynamic Fit technology, what is essentially a constricting mechanism, to the line. Hit the jump for the vids and let us know if you are picking up any of these new Nike runners.

All you have to do to get a firsthand look at how successful Nike Running’s Free Run+ 2 release has been, is to visit any commercial gym or, heck, even a dentist’s office or somewhere else people are standing during their work. It’s a supremely comfortable ride that’s both lightweight and breathable (and waterproof, in the case of the Shield edition), and right now you’re about to forget all about it because something even better is right around the corner. The Nike Free Run+ 3 is now arriving at retailers, probably with a reduced freight invoice arriving at Beaverton because even a truckload of these featherweight 7.1oz runners is practically ethereal. Five new colorways (three mens, two womens) are depicted after the jump below, where you can leave a comment to let us know which one you’ll be picking up from select stores like Mr. R. Photos: ITSB
