The Nike Free Trainer 5.0 V4 was built from the ground up to excel in two-toned colorways. Here we see a wWhite/Blue Hero and a Cool Grey/Sonic Yellow mix take advantage of this beautiful interplay, zigging and zagging across each other on the woven elements, laces and toe to create a crisp and cool option for your summertime training regimen, while the basic Black/White offers up a no-frills option. The Nike Free Trainer 5.0 NRG made a splash with dueling gradients after the earlier V4s were more simplistic in their composition. Turns out the NRG has multiple configurations, as this new style reveals a split on the base layer. This combo of Current Blue and Volt comes through in a faded Swoosh, and the overall composition accentuates the awareness of a sock covered by and exoskeletal layer. These come up early in the fall season with a July ship date, so pre-order a pair now from Titolo.

The fourth Free Trainer Five shows it’s capable of more visual intensity than we’d seen to date courtesy of a new high-energy colorway that hints at the ‘Sunset’ look. This Nike Free Trainer 5.0 NRG shows us that it can double up on gradients after earlier styles relied on contrasts between the woven sections. Here, the top layer is cast entirely in black, which draws the eye to the base’s yellow-orange fade echoed in the Swooshes. The third version was heavy on NFL colorways but had no online customization options, so it’s great to see the fourth Nike Free Trainer 5.0 arrive on NIKEiD. This shoe is ‘Built to Win. The Nike Free Trainer 5.0 continues to get outfitted with special editions honoring all sorts of Nike athletes. The next player to get their own pair is JJ Watt, the young defensive end who has made quite an impression during his short time in the league. This, the only look we’ve had at the sneaker before tomorrow’s release, shows off a white based Houston Texans colorway complete with what appears to be his “MegaWatt” nickname on the back. The Nike Free Trainer 5.0 continues to turn heads as one of the most excited offerings from the Nike Free lineup to date. Of course it’s not the Free stuff on bottom that’s really doing the work here, but rather that criss cross upper. Shown here is one of the first real “energy” colorways for the shoe, one that pairs court purple with a reflective silver 3M touch. The University of Oregon Ducks’ sprig football game, a grand tradition out in Eugene, is one that’s got some special footwear for 2013. Shown here is the Nike Free Trainer 5.0 “Oregon Ducks” version, a sneaker outfitted with a crazy 3M treatment across the Chinese finger trap upper and plenty of yellow strike oozing into the details. They appear to be a PE at this point but as you know, a handful of the “Oregon” oriented trainers have made their way to market in the past so we wouldn’t totally rule that out this time.
