Just a little over a year ago, Nike unleashed the Nike+ FuelBand which forever changed the way we monitor daily activity and exercise. From then ’til now, the Nike+ community has grown exponentially, with Nike loyalists around the globe getting in on the activity and the accessorizing (it doesn’t hurt that the FuelBand is a pretty cool watch). As a special promo to celebrate Fuel’s first birthday, Nike created this limited edition Nike+ Fuel “Fuelie” Figurine – a six-inch tall toy with a motto of “Life is a sport, make it count” and a pair of Air Max 90 PEs colored in Fuel Green and white. This is a promo release and will not be sold at retail, so check out the images below (as well as a dope Fuelband birthday cake) and let us know if you’re a member of the ever-growing Nike+ Fuel community.

It’s been roughly one year since the Nike+ FuelBand debuted to the world during a massive media event in New York City, and since then, millions have entered the Fuel+ community and made it count in every way possible. For the newest members of the Nike+ community, Nike has created the NikeFuel+ Zine – an interactive experience that educates on Fuel; this two-week experience will offer up individual lessons from artists, coaches, and other individuals in an effort to tighten the Nike+ community while keeping the door as welcoming as ever. How are your 2013 resolutions coming along? Yeah, we thought so. Nike’s Olympic ads this year have encouraged viewers to ‘Find Your Greatness.‘ For Sneaker News readers in Europe, that #findgreatness suggestion can be realized at Nike Stadium Berlin, where a sick new Nike Hyperdunk+ console just arrived. Limited to four ultra-premium consoles (the word ‘box’ or even ‘package’ does these no justice), the Hyperdunk+, ‘Ice’ FuelBand and iPod Touch with Nike+ apps are on display through August 12th. You can enter the raffle to win one of four consoles by testing your vertical jump at the Stadium, and click through to see more images of the ultra-impressive Bose audio-integrated console and its new Lunar Hyperdunk colorway.

In 2012, Nike Training explored uncharted territory, connecting proven methods with the digital realm and elevating performance to new heights. Nike has opened up a futuristic retail space called the Nike House of Innovation at Selfridges at Nike Oxford Street in London, allowing patrons to test out the latest Nike+ gear and purchase limited edition gear. In addition to the Nike+ FuelBand and Lunar Training footwear, those who visit the space will also have the opportunity to get their hands on the Nike Sportswear NSW Pinnacle Collection, Federation Uniforms, and the new Nike Flyknit footwear. Earlier in February, Nike+ introduced the revolutionary FuelBand, a state-of-the-art motion-tracker that keeps your physical activity in check using a universal currency called ‘Fuel’. Upon its release, the FuelBand was one of the hottest commodities in the accessory department as it was a heavily sought-after by both the hardcore training community, and the Nike-obsessed ‘collectors’ who just loved the high-tech appeal of the FuelBand. Later this month, Nike will finally release a second colorway of the Fuel-Band dubbed ‘Ice’, which features a translucent casing that reveals all of the innards. On July 27th, select Nike locations such as NikeTown NY, San Francisco, and London as well as London’s Boxpark, the House of Innovation at Selfridges, and 21 Mercer in NYC will release the FuelBand Ice, while a delayed release on Nikestore will hit on August 12th.

Nike’s increasingly prolific philanthropic efforts have proved their willingness to make the world a better place beyond the realm of sportswear. The fight against Parkinson’s in particular is one they’ve showed support for before, most notably in the epic Nike Mag 2011 series of auctions and subsequent donations. This time around they are getting behind Parkinson’s Awareness Month with a communal Nike+ based achievement that will raise $50,000 for the cause upon completion. The goal is for Nike+ FuelBand users to reach 5 million cumulative points through their collective physical activity, one of the most therapeutic things for those struggling with Parkinson’s disease. Nike has long been connected to Austin, Texas through Lance Armstrong as well as its support of the University of Texas Longhorns, but this year marks the first time that they’ve taken part in the city’s ever popular and still growing arts and media festival. The VEVO/Nike Fuel Station has set up shop for SXSW in the old Spaghetti Warehouse on 4th and Colorado to bring attention to the Nike+ FuelBand with specticles like a LIVESTRONG dodgeball match and appearances from atletes ranging from Nike SB to the NFL’s AFC. The FuelBand counts your activity while you’re running, training and otherwise living an active lifestyle in models like the Nike Free 3.0 V3 pictured above in a complimentary color scheme. Check out how the shoes match the FuelBand and its app and look for the Swoosh at South by Southwest into the middle of next week.
