It must be literally connected to honey bees in some way because the Nike Hachi pretty much died off after making an initial splash as Nike Sportswear’s lifestyle focus for a short period last summer. There havent been all that many releases following in the footsteps of the OG Sting-referencing Quickstrike debut, but here’s proof that there’s more left in the form of two leopard printed styles for the holiday season. With one in a golden hue and another with a ‘snow leopard’ look, these new Hachis prove there’s still plenty of life left in this runner-turned-chukka and a variety of blocking possibilities, two of which you can see after the jump below.

It’s been a good while since Nike Sportswear unleashed a new colorway for 2011′s top new chukka, but perhaps all that waiting was just what we needed to appreciate the subtle beauty of this new release. The Nike Hachi Premium returns in a black leather Quickstrike design that features the same leather-wrapped vulc sole setup as a turn of the year lifestyle QS trio as well as the Toki Mid on NIKEiD. We know from an earlier preview that this pair will be joined at retail by cream-colored counterpart, so check out more images of this black pair in the meantime and grab yours from NSW retailers like Titolo.

A trio of tablecloth-like gingham ladies colorways popped up during last year’s dog days, but we haven’t seen any since from Nike Sportswear’s new-for-2011 lifestyle design. The Nike WMNS Hachi will return soon in a makeup that’s unique to the model so far including men’s releases, a heathered black denim-ish twill whose soft grey flecks are echoed by the foxing band and taken to another level by the soft purple laces, heel stripe and outsole. Whether we’ll see these replicated on a different palette remains to be seen, but this particular pair should be out before the end of the spring season, and you can see more up-close images after clicking the jump below. via TTB.

Lately we’ve seen the Nike Hachi aim for more uniform looks, with the black nubuck and the gum leather sole pairs sticking to a pretty slim set of materials on the uppers. Looks like as the spring time rolls around this little bee (Hachi is Japanese for ‘bee’) is due for some cross-pollination, picking up a wider set of looks on the new Nike Hachi Textile. There’s ripstop nylon, suede sections, even some leather hits around the back end that together work with the white soles to lighten up the look a little bit. Check the full shots after the jump and hit up Crooked Tongues out in the UK to get a pair of your own.

The Nike Hachi already has a fairly elegant design comprised of sleek, almost stately lines and one with minimal branding, so if you wanted to release top-tier editions, might it be as simple as applying premium materials? The answer is yes, including both the upper and midsole, as the Hachi Supreme successfully adds a whole ‘nother level of refinement by encasing the vulcanized sole in the same black nubuck that covers the entire shoe. And as with almost any sneaker, the monochromatic design is enhanced by a caramel brown sockliner for one of those looks you’d love to see replicated in a range of colors. Rumors circulating in the middle of this year regarding the Nike Toki‘s demise (or at least temporary retirement) were premature, and the Nike Sportswear lifestyle sneaker lineup is all the better for it. They’ve come together with to of the Swoosh’s dressier best and this trio of leather-wrapped-gumsoled Quickstrikes instantly stands out as among the nicest looking casual packs NSW has ever issued. A Henna brown leather Toki Supreme is joined by the relatively new Hachi in Pecan and an Aina Chukka whose woven body is cast in Dark Cinder with a moccasin toe added for good measure. This trio is a promising look at what we might expect from Beaverton’s top-tier casual releases moving forward; which of the three catches your eye? Click through for a series of new images and expect these in the US soon; they drop tomorrow at Tokyo’s Nike Harajuku.

Nike Sportswear continues to diversify their range of lifestyle sneakers, dropping this quick strike pack with a collection of mids that adopt the brown shoe look. The trio consists of the Nike Toki, Nike Hachi, and the Nike Aina Chukka which all get a deep tan leather for the upper. The truly remarkable part comes on the lower construction though, with a leather midsole wrapping around the shoe and gum bottoms for the outsole. The Swoosh styling on these is pretty minimal, showing up through the perforated sections on the Hachi and Toki and even less than that on the Aina Chukka, resulting in a pretty clean look. There might not be as many bees out during the winter as during the dog days, but Nike Sportswear’s own arthropods aren’t taking their exoskeletons elsewhere in response to the cold weather, just bundling up. The Nike Hachi is back after the longest delay between colorways since its summertime debut, these new ‘Winter Pack’ releases adding one pair to the set we previewed back in September. The total’s still capped at two, though, which makes us wonder where the black and purple pair might be given the availability of the navy/brown edition it was previewed alongside plus an extra earthy tonal brown edition that seems to have taken the black pair’s place, at least for now. Check out both of them after the jump and then buy yours from a Nike Sportswear retailer like Size?.
