After a quiet period that lasted roughly the first two months of summer, the Nike Huarache Free Run is back in a big way for the back to school shopping season.  Following up on the bold ‘Industrial Orange’ edition we showed you earlier this week comes a style that if we notice the AFC East connections, end up something like the New York Jets to that aforementioned style’s Miami Dolphins.  This Dark Pine-accented pair would probably be a Jets alternate at best with the black and Cool Grey upper, but with the first Nike x NFL season right around the corner and this solid new Huarache Free Run arriving at Nike Sportswear dealers like Corporate, it’s hard not to be get caught up in the excitement!

Nike Huarache Free Run – Midnight Navy – Tide Pool

In the month since we’ve seen a new Nike Huarache Free Run, we’ve seen a fairly huge variety of releases and samples from that lineage. 2012 is a great year for this sandal-inspired style and the quality is on par with the volume, and even with all those that’ve come and gone in between, the Huarache Free Run can still come back to the formula it’s been rocking all spring, and absolutely kill it. This might be the best one yet in this particular blocking pattern, a tonal, Tide Pool-accented Midnight Navy design whose grey tongue and white sole confer supreme versatility. Check them out up close below, then look for yours at NikeStore.

Nike Huarache Free Run – Black – Red Mahogany | Available

While purists still crave a true retro run, we’ve all been enjoying the recent spread of Huarache Free releases from Nike Sportswear encompassing both the running and basketball styles.  Aside from their recent frequency and the shared addition of a grooved Free sole, we haven’t seen too much crossover between these two iconic early ’90s designs, but this black, Red Mahogany and Scarlet Fire take on the Nike Huarache Free 2012 is indeed similar to the B-ball version with those same colors.  But at least when it comes to the multilayered mesh toe, these are more similar to the true ‘bred’ Huarache Basektball ’12s, and you’ll find these available now at NSW stockists like the one located at the center of the college roundball universe, Lexington, Kentucky’s Oneness.

We’ve known for twenty-one years that Nike’s Huarache runner can handle the exuberant colorways that typified its era of origin.  And this spring, we’ve seen the updated Nike Huarache Free Run excel in the uniquely simple colors and blocking patterns that historians will use to recall the current day.  Here’s further proof of this model’s perfect adaptation to today, a tonal red drop that’s so skillfully balanced that the fade from bright Scarlet Fire to black seems about as perfect a fade as you’d get this side of a the gradients on modern synthetic performance builds.  A key element of this expert blend is the dual-colored mesh that came on a couple of the recent B-Ball drops; how do these compare to the best we’ve seen from both Huarache revivals?  Leave a comment after the jump when you click through to see more images before buying at NikeStore.

Even if the Huarache Free Run isn’t exactly what Nike Retro fans were expecting, the Retro ‘hybrid’ has been a huge hit thus far. Like the original, the Huarache Free Run is insanely comfortable and lightweight, making for easy walk-arounds and running sessions while owning the satisfaction of wearing some pretty sexy kicks. The White/Soar/Cyber colorway has been on the Sneaker News radar for some time as it captures that near-original colorway with ease, and with Nikestore just making these available, we suggest you head into April correctly by throwing these into your immediate rotation.
