This year’s Black History Month collection of footwear releases and PEs by Nike Basketball might’ve been the best we’ve ever seen, because some players continued wearing their pairs long after the appointed month of February was over! The sick graphic on the upper with reflective detailing was the perfect representation of the historical roots of Black History, making these some of the most sought-after kicks of the year. As per usual, the Nike Hyperdunk lineup will pay tribute to coach Kay Yow with a couple of ‘Think Pink’ colorways. Shown here is the low version from the group, one that dials back the pinkfire treatment just a bit in favor of a black base up top. Along with the requisite pink sections, the sneaker also gets hit with the ‘Think Pink’ logo on the tongue in support of breast cancer awareness. Jeremy Lin has skyrocketed to global fame over the past year, and on Thursday he launched his charitable foundation that’ll benefit organizations in the Houston area. Linsanity’s new home meant the Rockets’ point guard got to compete in the NBA Skills Challenge on his home floor Saturday night. Lin had his choice of the Nike Lunar Hypergamer Low and Hyperdunk 2012 Low, and ended up going for the Lunar Hypergamer PE for the contest. The Nike Hyperdunk 2012 Low is moving fast to release new colorways. We’ve seen four since last Wednesday, and this new mix of University Red and Bright Crimson makes five. All of these colorups have been fairly simple and just a TB suffix away from being overtly team-oriented, this tonal red edition most closely mimicking the Team and Total Orange template from the first trio showcased. Nike Basketball continues to work around the color wheel and will soon have one to match every squad.
