Kevin Durant is definitely one of the more approachable sports stars on Twitter, with his @KDTrey5 Twitter page headlined by a “I’m me, I do me, and I chill” personal slogan – one that we can all relate to in some way another. The Nike KD Trey 5 is indeed a tribute to Durant’s internet presence, with his handle typed out in basic font on the tongue, but the rest of shoe is better fit for the court thanks to the Zoom cushioning and XDR outsole. There’s a good chance that the Nike KD Trey 5 is going to be an exclusive release to Asia given the aforementioned outdoor-specific XDR outsole, so better not miss out on this rare chance to pick up a pair – there’s a sample size 9 ready to be picked up from cascade-qt on eBay.

It’s for Nike to expand the Kevin Durant name beyond the signature model, and it seems like it’s all coming together during the KD V life-cycle. Not only is the KD V part of the Nike Elite 2.0 Collection, but a brand new model will bear the KD logo – the Nike KD Trey 5. This lower-cut design clearly has more lifestyle/off-the-court appeal, with the polygonal cut-outs on the upper reminding us of the intricate outsole traction pattern on the Nike KD V and the unique heel construction adding something new to the scene. We have a multi-angle look at this White/Mint/Grey colorway after the jump so take a look and stay tuned to Sneaker News for potential U.S. release info as these takedown/spin-off models are typically Asia-exclusives.

Looks like Kevin Durant’s line of signature sneakers with Nike has finally garnered enough attention to warrant its own take-down line, with the shoe set to morph into the Nike KD Trey 5 come next year. The model returns to the low cut look from the Nike Zoom KD IV, adorning the design all around with Durant’s logo and name. Click through with us for a first look at the Nike KD Trey 5 (a callout to Durant’s #35 with Oklahoma City as well as his Twitter handle) and check back with Sneaker News for release info as soon as it’s available.
