The Nike KD V is sneaking in one more colorway before what should be the biggest release yet for the sneaker in the form of next weekend’s ‘All Star’ release. Releasing tomorrow, February 19th, is the Nike KD V ‘Birch’. The sneaker looks like sort of an alternate Oklahoma City colorway thanks to the inclusion of both the blue and the orange. Sneaker News reported three Nike KD V release dates last week, and now we have word of another previously previewed pair finalizing its arrival time. Nicknamed after the earthy shade that on the KD 5′s synthetic upper takes on considerably more gloss than we’ve seen on recent Nike SB suede releases, the ‘Birch’ KD V fills out with Oklahoma City Thunder accents atop a peach outsole. Stick with Sneaker News to see if Kevin Durant squeezes these in as a ‘home’ colorway, and be ready when these arrive at select Nike Basketball retailers on Saturday, February 9th including the Fayetteville location for Rock City Kicks.

It’s not mystery that the KD V has been moving relatively slowly out of the gate (especially compared to its much more popular IV predecessor), but that’s because we haven’t yet been hit with that one jaw-dropping colorway. While the ‘DMV’ and ‘Christmas’ were pretty sick in their own right, we’re still waiting the ‘Nerf/Weatherman’ effect to send the KD V to new heights, and according to Leo’s statement in our interview with the Nike Basketball designer, the best is yet to come. We still have these great GR colorways like this ‘Birch’ to hold us down, so peep the images below and stay tuned to Sneaker News for updated release information.

Another OKC-inspired colorway of the Nike KD V is upon us, combining the Photo Blue/Team Orange anchor with a unique package of Birch and Sail on the upper. Although there is no grey-scale uniform for the Thunder to wear, these do have an ‘alternate’ appeal, making for a perfect fit for Durant when he’s Home or Away (except when they wear those Navy Blue unis). These are set for a release during the Spring 2013 season so peep the additional angles below and let us know what you think of the colorway.
