There’s only one week until the Nike KD V Elite hits stores, and Kevin Durant himself is making the wait harder than it is as he gives us a peek at yet another awesome colorway of the Elite. This version is a crisp Black/Blue (similar to the first colorways of the Nike+ equipped Hyperdunk and LunarTR1 that dropped last year) with some white speckling and an irresistible icy outsole. Will we see a release? Why don’t you tell us if these should come out in stores! Hit the jump for another look and let us know.

Nike KD V Elite “EYBL”

Let’s be honest here – the Nike KD V colorways thus far have been good, but short of great. The standards set by the Nike KD IV (the Nerf, Weatherman) were tough to meet, and now that we’ve closed the book on the Nike KD V and moved onto the Elite, can we expect some real heat? This first look at the Nike KD V Elite “EYBL” shouts a resounding “yes”, because this is colorway is definitely one of the craziest we’ve seen out of the fifth model – although these are just a Promo and likely won’t be released. There are too many details to drool over here, starting with the focused heel splatter on the midsole, the streaky graphics on the upper that give the illusino of speed, the contrasting visible flywire, and the translucent green outsole. We’ve got a detailed gallery below, so check it out and stay tuned for more updates because for now, these are a Promo for the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL).

In the event that Kevin Durant and LeBron James meet up again in the finals this year, we’ll have the ultimate face off of Nike Elite sneakers. For the OKC side it will be the Nike KD V Elite+, a sneaker on display here in the clean white and gold post season colorway. Is it possible that we will see Kevin Durant’s Elite sneaker this year surpass the popularity of his standard sneaker given the return to low form that many were calling for? Give us your thoughts on that in the comments and watch for the Nike KD V Elite+ to release on April 20th.

Nike Basketball Elite Series 2.0 “Gold Collection”

nike basketball elite series 2 0 gold collection Nike Basketball Elite Series 2.0 Gold Collection

The playoffs are coming, which means its time for Nike Basketball’s top notch athletes to switch over to their elite models. Rather than any of the gaudier colorways we’ve seen, it appears that the Nike KD V Elite and the Nike LeBron X Elite will be hitting the hardwood in some simpler white and and gold makeups. Said gold sections reflect the yearning for a championship season, one that’s very much a possibility for both Kevin Durant and LeBron James. Whether or not Kobe will get there is a different story, and it seems like his Nike Kobe 8 Elite has been set apart as a result (Sporting a black/gold colorway and not releasing until June 1st). See all of these Nike Elite basketball models after the jump and tell us which you’re looking forward

Monday morning provides more evidence that Nike Basketball’s Elite Series 2.0 is far more colorful than (at least the official releases from) its predecessors.  The Nike KD V Elite shows off another Oklahoma City Thunder-themed colorway, this time more in the ‘Creamcicle’ direction than the recently revealed ‘Away’ look.  There might be a fourth straight Scoring Title edition with Durant leading the NBA PPG rankings by a comfortable margin with three weeks left in the regular season, so stick with Sneaker News to see how the KD V Elite makes an impact on the Playoffs and let us know how this orange Thunder edition compares after you’ve seen more below.
