The Nike KD V is officially done for, as its successor has already hit sneaker shelves. The shifting of seasons left this edition of Kevin Durant’s signature series with Nike with a little bit of a shorter lifespan, one that may or may not have affected the total number of pairs to end up at retail. Here’s another one that didn’t end up there, a Nike KD V featuring the gradient look across the midsole that’s slapped on here via some OKC Thunder tones. Take a full look after the jump and then purchase the sample for yourself (There won’t be many other opportunities) from johndavis48 on eBay.

randy williams nike kd v collection Randy Williams Shows Off His Nike KD V Collection

Sneaker News alluded to Randy Williams’ impressive access to exclusive Nike KD Vs including the Elites just this morning.  He showed off a grey alternate OKC colorway on the KD V Elite that’s not even included in this massive spread of colorups on the fifth Durant Nike Basketball signature.  There are at least thirty other styles on display in the video you’ll see after the jump, ranging from some of the more sought after releases to styles that will never see the light of day at retail.  Standouts include the recent ‘What the KD’ mashup, one that channels a bit of Yeezy 2 energy with a tonal red getup, and a V that looks like a remixed take on the dinner mint-ish Elites Williams himself was spotted wearing a while back.  Let us know which of these catches your eye and stick with Sneaker News because the KD 6 is right around the corner.

nike kd v black red royal pe 01 Nike KD V Black Red Royal PE

Is it safe to say that the Nike KD V is done? Even the Elite edition seems to be exhausted at this point. Now that the smoke has settled, it looks like we’re not going to ever have the chance at one of those split colored uppers at retail. Shown here is another of those, which goes black, red, and royal on the colors and in turn ends up looking nothing like the Oklahoma City Thunder’s official set. Stay with us through the click to see some extra angles on the shoes courtesy of one of KD’s close friends and tell us if you think these sort of releases would have altered the course of his latest sig for the better.

The Nike KD V “What the KD” officially hit retailers today. Keep in mind that the number of retailers it did hit was pretty small, a factor that may or may not have caused folks to let them completely slip out of memory. Fortunately some more photos have surfaced, showing off the mash-up design a little better than any of slim previews we’ve seen to date. Nike “What The KD V” – Release Reminder

nike what the kd v release date 1 Nike What The KD V Release Reminder

We’re assuming that pretty much everyone had written off the Nike KD V “What the KD” as a sneaker that would never be releasing. Well, it is releasing. Keep in mind that the spots look to be super limited though, with the likes of Nike Los Angeles and select Foot Locker stores being some of the very small number of places reporting pairs. In fact, that has them limited almost to the level of the recent Nike LeBron X “MVP” release. Which do you think will go down in history as the better sneaker? Give us a heads up and then tell us if you’ve got any designs on picking up the Nike “What the KD V” tomorrow, June 14th.

nike what the kd v release date 2 Nike What the KD V? Release Date

The Nike KD V “What the KD” will release on June 14th. The pair marks the first time that the mash-up look will hit Kevin Durant’s signature sneaker line and actually make it all the way to retail. It was looking as if they’d be another one of those many colorways restricted to his inner circle, but some release info has randomly arrived and confirmed their release for this weekend. Get another look at Nike KD V “What the KD?” after the jump and keep in mind that Nike LA is the only spot we’ve noticed to date that’s reporting a release, but other accounts should soon follow.

Nike KD V “Total Orange” – Unreleased Sample

May 30th, 2013 by | 1 comment

nike kd v total orange team orange unreleased sample 1 Nike KD V Total Orange Unreleased Sample

Alright so the Nike KD V Elite in total orange is indeed getting a retail release, injecting a bit more OKC flavor into that post-season silhouette before it bows out completely. What doesn’t appear to be coming to shelves near you any time soon is this, a Nike KD V proper that uses more or less the same combination. The big difference between the two comes in the form of the outsole coloring-these don’t really stick in any of that “icy” appeal. Continue reading to see the unreleased Nike KD V in total orange after the jump and tell us if you would have picked them up had they been a retail shoe.
