How perfect would it have been for LeBron James and Nike if the Miami Heat won the NBA Championship last year? In a season marred by criticism of all degrees directed toward LeBron James (with Nike making a calculated move to protect its star athlete with the ‘Rise’ advertisement), a Championship trophy in 2011 would’ve shut all the critics up in one fell swoop and LeBron’s decision to leave would’ve been one of intelligence rather than cowardice. That story unfolded for LeBron in the worst way possible, and even Nike didn’t see it coming as they already prepared a ‘Championship’ version of the LeBron 8 in the form of the low-top Flamingos, but a first look at this unreleased and unworn Red/Gold sample sheds even more light on what Nike had planned for and expected of LeBron James. With the release of the Nike LeBron 9′s looming, we’ll forgive you if you forgot about King James’ post season sneaker-the Nike LeBron 8 P.S. So while it’s only a matter of weeks before he puts the 8′s and their various iterations away for good, LeBron may still have a few ones left in the vault, like this black/white/red PE colorway he was seen in during the CP3 Charity Game over the weekend. The color combo is one of the more Heat oriented ones we’ve seen from LeBron, so maybe he’s remaining hopeful about the pending NBA season. Before we close the eighth chapter of the book of Nike LeBron, let’s take one last look at the Nike LeBron 8 P.S.. You know what would be absolutely shocking? If someone were clever enough to see this shoe and leave a comment about LeBron James choking during the most recent NBA Finals. Nike LeBron 8 P.S. – 2011 NBA Final PE | Available in Asia

From beginning the end, the Nike LeBron 8 releases have been somewhat confusing. After the South Beaches dropped as a Miami exclusive, essentially kicking off the new era of the LeBron James and his Nike kicks, they hit nationwide in limited number (and are currently selling for roughly $1,000). Fast forward to the post-NBA season period, and we have two great LeBron 8 releases – arguably the best colorway their respective models – release only in Asia. The Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low ‘Miami Nights’ hit Asia not long ago and now the 2011 NBA Finals PE of the LeBron 8 P.S. followed suit. A U.S. release is rather unlikely, so hit Nikestore China right now because they’ve got a few sizes left for purchase.
