NIKE LEBRON 8 P.S. The Nike LeBron 8 P.S. is the post season version of LeBron James’ eighth signature sneaker with Nike. Various pairs were worn by James as he and the Miami Heat advanced clear to the Finals in the 2010-11 NBA season. The sneaker altered the design of its predecessor in aiming for a lighter build, using Nike’s seamless Hyperfuse technology to achieve this.

It’s about to get serious on the NBA hardwood as the regular season stretch run will determine the final seeding for the postseason which begins in just under two weeks. Teams are jockeying for position and then their entire quest begins anew when the 2011 NBA Playoffs begin and among the key storylines is how far we’ll see the Miami Heat advance. That’s when we’ll learn how ridiculous (or spot-on) the Heatles’ pre-season celebration really was and King James will break out the Nike LeBron 8 P.S. to aide his quest for that elusive first ring. And you know LeBron raises his game come playoff time but just in case you needed a reminder, check out the box for the LeBron 8 Postseason. This carton features a decidedly more intense super-closeup of LBJ’s mug with a similarly macro shot of a lion’s roar gracing the inner sidewall. Click through for more shots, let us know how these compare to the LeBron 8 and V2 ‘lion head’ boxes and stick with Sneaker News for word on any possible special packaging to come. via LRJ23.

Their comparably stellar play means it’s fitting that Dwayne Wade’s upcoming Air Jordan Fly Wade will see a similar colorway, but there’s simply no disputing who the real Dunkman is. Check out these new photos of the Nike LeBron 8 P.S. in an updated take on the colorway we’ve come to know and love from Nike Basketball’s LeBron James signature sneakers over the past several years. Instead of a black-based look, this year the Dunkman edition LeBrons are done in a bold Metallic Silver upper, a futuristic look befitting their lightweight Fuse construction, and one that serves to add even more energy to the Electric Green accents. These joints are slated for a Friday the 13th release in May so stick with Sneaker News in case we find ‘em available early and click through to see more photos and let us know if you plan to buy a pair. via Dunk

LeBron James’ in-game alter ego is the ‘Dunkman‘, the high-flying hero that destroys his opponents with vicious one-handed jams and incredible aerial acceleration. The ‘Dunkman’ sightings haven’t been as frequent this year because the Miami Heat have LeBron playing a slightly different role, but he was still good for a nice handful of sick slams thus far. Here’s another look at the Nike LeBron 8 P.S. ‘Dunkman’, set for a release later in the year; the matte metallic silver Fuse upper combined with the neon green on the Max Air unit, outsole, inner lining, and tongue don’t hesitate to jump your senses (hence, the ‘Dunkman’). Speaking on comfort, the LeBron 8 P.S. shouldn’t disappoint because the weightless Fuse upper combined with the Max Air/Zoom Air cushioning unit will provide enough support for anyone who wants to jump out of a building. Take another detailed look below, reserve a pair at RMK, and let us know what you think.

LeBron has been billed as ‘King James’ as long as we can remember, so it’s fitting that this year’s playoff sneaker has been most widely previewed in royal blue. An ‘off’ colorway to display James’ second alternate shoe this year, the Nike LeBron 8 P.S. sees its royal/black colorway a fitting contrast to the unbeatable combination of Max Air in the heel with a Zoom Air forefoot cushion. Add in the one-piece breathable and super-lightweight Hyperfuse upper and these joints will be tough to contend with come late April and you gotta believe we’ll see plenty of Heat (-oriented colorways). The royal blue pair we’ve seen the most of so far does a good job of setting the Nike LeBron 8 PS aside from its predecessors, but how about a look at a colorway we can actually expect to see LeBron James wearing come playoff time. This pair of Postseason LeBron 8s is done in a Heat-friendly black, red and white colorway that we’d expect to see during Miami’s away games starting in late April. LeBron loyalists will remember that these bear a strong resemblance to the LeBron 8 V/2 ‘Portland Game’ PE, but unlike those, these are a lock for retail.
