LeBron James has a tough offseason ahead of him, as he will undoubtedly face criticism from his biggest pre-season detractors (anyone from Cleveland) and re-evaluate his decision to leave for Miami, a decision he quickly defended during the post-game interview after Game 6. Though he fell short again, his sneakers will still be a hot commodity for the summer, as the recent Quickstrike release of the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low ‘Sprite’ sold out instantly. The more toned down version of the V/2 Low is this Wolf Grey colorway, which may draw comparison to the Cool Grey V/2 that released earlier this year, but these are a decidedly different colorway (much, much lighter). Check out these new images via Citysole (they have a few pairs early) and let us know what you think, and expect these to hit stores soon.

Is tonight’s NBA Finals Game 5 in Dallas the single biggest of LeBron James’ entire basketball career? It’s hard to suggest the answer is no given the Barkley-esque common sense sentiment that the winner of this game will go on to take the series. And though now might be the perfect time to get some extra help in the form of a Dunkman release, you still can’t argue against the perfect timing of the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low ‘Sprite’. One of the very best summer sneaker designs of 2011, the ‘Sprite’ LeBron 8 V2 Lows go with a mix of Treasure Blue and Volt that pretty well emulates CocaCola’s lemon-lime soda can. They’re hitting House of Hoops on Friday, but have already popped up at FinishLine with select additional Nike Basketball retailers also getting shipments, or if not, you can find a pair right now on eBay.

Will LeBron James finally wear his player exclusive all-black LeBron 8 PS during the Miami Heat’s upcoming road games in Dallas? King James is in a position to cut the switch on the 2010-11 NBA season with just three more wins, but whether it happens at AmericanAirlines Arena or AmericanAirlines Center (or at all) remains to be seen. What we do know for certain regarding LeBron and all-black signature sneakers is that the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low ‘Blackout’ has sneakerheads excited for their release later this summer. This ‘Triple Black’ getup is the darkest LeBron since a similar palette was produced on the leather and carbon fiber LeBron VIII, this pair getting an edge on weight and tonal depth thanks to the synthetic Flywire shell upper. Click through to see some more images and if you can’t wait until they hit retail, consider purchasing a pair early from respected eBay seller airrandyhk through Facebook.

Maybe LeBron should wear these Solar Red lows for Game 2, because he’s scorching hot. After hitting a handful of clutch three-pointers and slamming down an alley-oop and an And-1, LeBron is suddenly one up on the Dallas Mavericks and is three victories short of his first-ever NBA Championship. Although the Solar Red colorway of the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low won’t release until after the Finals are over, these should still be in high demand because the V/2 Low is shaping up to be one of best summer basketball sneakers – for both performance and style. Continue reading for a detailed gallery of this upcoming colorway of the low-top LeBron 8 V/2 and let us know if you think LeBron’s decision to leave Cleveland will pay off. via AGS.

‘Solar Red‘ and ‘Miami Heat’ are quite the fitting combination, and right now there is no team in the 2011 NBA Playoff pool that is hotter than LeBron James’ Heat. Although the 2011 Playoffs is strictly for the Nike LeBron 8 PS only, this upcoming Solar Red colorway of the LeBron 8 V/2 Low would fit well on LeBron’s feet, who just dropped 35 points and grabbed 14 rebounds during Miami’s Game 4 win in Boston. LBJ is scorching hot and even after the Playoffs are over, LeBron fans will have plenty to cheer about because the LeBron 8 V/2 Low will keep them busy until the LeBron 9 makes its debut. You can, however, rock these right now because a decent size run is available at the moment from air-randy on eBay.

Last night Sneaker News showed you the ‘Bright Mango’ colorway of the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low. Are these the compatriot of the Zoom Kobe VI ‘Barcelona‘, and upcoming colorway of the Kobe VI that also uses ‘Bright Mango’? LeBron James doesn’t have any clear ties with soccer, but it’s interesting to see that the two colorways are nearly identical to one another (would’ve been exact if the swoosh border and midsole was black and the outsole was of the clear, translucent variety). It’s clear that the LeBron 8 ‘South Beach’ has paved the way for fruity and pastel tonal uppers to take control of basketball sneakers and this upcoming ‘Bright Mango’ V/2 Low should quench the thirsts of those in search for another South Beach-esque LeBron 8 V/2 (as will the ‘Sprite’ colorway). Check out the additional On-Foot image below and let us know which LeBron 8 V/2 Low colorway you like best. via hoopchina.

A grey-top version of the LeBron 8 V/2 already released earlier this year, but the V/2 Low version is a decidedly lighter tone adopting Wolf Grey and Metallic Silver for a chromed-out look. These should be an absolutely killer summer shoe (low-tops are naturally attributed to warmer weather), and perhaps LeBron might take a page out of Michael Jordan’s book by rocking low-tops during the Playoffs (MJ wore low-top XIIIs during the ’98 Playoffs). Many of LeBron’s low-top signature shoes adopted completely different constructions, but the V/2 Low is just like it’s taller brother – and almost looks like a Mid itself. We’ve got new images for you to enjoy so take a look, and if you need them now, grab a pair early from kicks-lab or on eBay.
