The more things change, the more they stay the same. That’s one way of describing Nike Basketball’s Christmas Day 2011 pack headed up by the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Christmas’. It’s a colorway strikingly similar to last year’s LeBron 8 V/2s, though its inclusion on what might just be the most advanced basketball shoe ever created, does indeed preserve the sense of progress building in LeBron’s signature series. With the Zoom Kobe VII Supreme ‘Leopard’, we’re seeing a shift from last year’s all-green ‘Grinch’ getup to a more Lakers-oriented colorway, which itself has seen its supposed inspiration move from one wild jungle cat to another. And rounding out the group is Amar’e Stoudemire’s Air Max Sweep ThruChristmas PE, a shoe previewed just like teammate Carmelo Anthony’s Xmas PEs in green and orange, now appearing with a Sport Red strap that seems far more befitting the season. Reports had these arriving at retailers on Christmas Day, but stores like Extra Butter will be closed for the holiday and should have these in stock on Monday morning, December 26th.

DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God played the role of event host for the Power 105.1 ‘Breakfast Club’ One Year Anniversary Concert, which was held at the Best Buy theater in New York City. Among the performers was Wale, Meek Millz, and French Montana, but your attention might’ve been diverted towards the hosts’ kicks; DJ Envy pulled a ‘Wale’ and rocked the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Christmas’ (the release is this Sunday), while Charlamagne Tha God kept it clean with the White/Cement Air Jordan III. We’ve got some extra shots of their kicks below so take a look and let us know who rocked the better kicks! via alleyesonwho.

It’s pretty typical for the Holiday season to be jam packed with big name releases, but it’s another thing entirely to have them fall on Christmas Day. The Nike Basketball Christmas Pack is doing just that though, coming with three brand new colorways from the forefront of the Swoosh’s representatives in the NBA: LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant. Of the three, LeBron’s definitely approaches the theme in the most straightforward way, rocking the red/green/white look that you have not doubt noticed plastered up everywhere for the past month or so. Can you sneak away from Christmas dinner with the fam long enough to lock down your pair? Only time will tell, but until then, follow us after the jump to get a better look at this upcoming release. via SneakerGo

Nike Basketball broke the red and green mold with last year’s Christmas Day Collection that featured the LeBron 8 V.2, Zoom KD III and Zoom Kobe VI in a ‘Signal Your Color’ theme. Each shoe had its own inspiration, yet they came together to form something like a stoplight, but this time around the big three sigs each go their own way at the fork in the road. The Nike LeBron 9 stays with the seasonal theme with its red upper adding white accents and green laces, and even the Zoom KD IV can be seen as somewhat traditional with its ornamental Metallic Bronze upper adding red laces. And while there are also red laces and (neon) green accents on the Zoom Kobe VII Supreme, that shoe’s ‘Cheetah’ colorway takes it even further than last year’s ‘Grinch’, and is easily the most inventive and indirectly Christmas-y of the bunch. Which of these three do you like best? Let us know when you click through for more images, and stick with Sneaker News for updates on these December 25th releases (that’s right, more presents on Christmas!). via 23penny1

LeBron James and the Miami Heat will tip off their 2011-12 season in the second of five Christmas Day games, this opening tilt a ‘game 7′ of sorts against defending NBA Champions, the Dallas Mavericks. The game will be played at Dallas’ American Airlines Center, but King James is right at home with the national spotlight. This year makes five in a row that ‘Bron’s team has been featured on the league’s annual TV showcase, and similar to his first campaign in MIA, this year sees an all-red Nike LeBron 9 ‘Christmas’ slated to commemorate the occasion. Owing to a combination of the proximity to King James born date and the NBA’s annual TV showcase, Christmas colorways from Nike Basketball’s LeBron signature series are every bit as much a tradition as ‘home’ and ‘away’ looks. This year’s offers a festive vibe similar to last year’s release, and though it doesn’t feature more than a few select white hits, the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Christmas Day’ does indeed connect with that idea of driven snow ‘purity’ thanks to its huge sweeps of tonal red. Paired with white-ticked green laces, they’re something like an un-Tree, and these latest images show that in a small enough size (or on a large enough tree), they have the look of a sneakerhead’s favorite ornament. Check out a run of new images after the jump and let us know where these rank on your holiday wish list. via Kickz-Lab
