Fans out the Nike LeBron 9 have quite a bit to keep track of at the moment, with the Elite series and the Low version both vying for their chance in the spotlight now that we’re seeing less and less of the mainline model. And while the Low certainly has its work cut out for it facing off against the $250 behemoth that is the Elite, we’re sure it can manage with strong Miami based colorways like the pair shown here. Hit the jump with us for the full look at the Nike LeBron 9 Low in black/sport red/white and cop a pair for yourself now from spots like Oneness.

If you’re a hardcore Nike LeBron fan, your wallet is about to get thinner – about $1,000 worth. This Saturday will mark the official release of the Home and Away colorways of the LeBron 9 P.S. Elite, and on May 12th (three Saturdays from now), the Varsity Maize joints will hit as well. That’s $750 so far. What falls in-between? The Floridians colorway of the Nike LeBron 9 Low. By our count, that’s $900 worth of LeBron goodies, and that’s not even including the dreadful sales tax and possible shipping charges. If you’ve been dying for a Low-top, the Floridians will be incredibly tough to pass on, so peep this new set of images below and snag a pair right now from id4shoes on eBay.

When you put out a colorway as crazy as Vivid Orange, Cherry and white on a model as popular as the Nike LeBron 9 Low, people are going to talk. Soon after the first images of this spectacularly energetic summer colorup first surfaced, it was dubbed ‘Bubblicious’ for its resemblance to a bubble gum LeBron endorses, and has since been compared to everything from rainbow sherbet to an alternate look for the University of Tennessee women’s hoop squad. But in truth, this wild LeBron 9 Low was inspired by the ABA’s Miami Floridians, a team that beat the Heat to South Beach by a good twenty years. The Floridians’ distinctive magenta, orange, black and white jerseys were resurrected as a Miami alternate this year, but these LeBron 9 Lows stand to be a mainstay for those looking to turn heads during the dog days. Check them out up close below and let us know if these’ll get your money during the upcoming Cinco de Mayo blowout. Photos: HK

Tonal sneaker designs have advanced so far in both number and sophistication over the past few years, and while much of these gains have come on super-simple lifestyle sneaker, select performance models like the Nike LeBron 9 Low manage to also be showcases for this relatively new color expression. The LeBron 9 Low shows us that tonal can mean red-on-red as in the case of the Team and Challenge Red edition coming up this summer, or add a degree of complexity like this Vivid Orange and Cherry design whose two main colors’ shared reliance upon reflecting red light is echoed by the split coloring of their shared Max Air cushion. This has them ending up closer to a dish of rainbow sherbet than the ‘Bubblicious’ nickname some have bestowed upon this vibrant design, but you could even stretch to call these a ‘Cinco de Mayo’, because May 5th indeed marks the US release date. There’s a little less than two weeks to go in the NBA season, but the NBA kicks just seem to get better and better. After debuting the Ambassador IV on Friday night, LeBron whipped out the Nike LeBron 9 Low in Black/Red against the Knicks on Sunday. The Garden seemed to be home to a lot of great sightings, because we saw the Air Jordan 2012, Air Jordan X, Kobe VII ‘Wolf’, and even John Wall’s ‘Beyond The Gold’ PE hit the Mecca floor. Other notables include Nate Robinson showing the Melo M8 some love, OJ Mayo rocking the tonal patent leather navy Air Max CB 34 HOH exclusives, and Timofey Mosgov boasting what might be the best iD colorway of the Huarache 2k4. The sneaker king of the week is without a doubt Monta Ellis, who showed up on Friday night with the Air Jordan XVI CDP and Air Jordan XVIII CDP (switching at halftime), and on Sunday with the Silver Anniversary XI. More of this weekend’s best footwear sightings, so take a look for a full recap of NBA Feet! Photos: espn

What if the LeBron 9 ‘Big Bang’ had simply swapped to Western Conference red instead of the Total Orange that set them apart from years past? There’s a good chance it might have looked something like this Nike LeBron 9 Low that blends the Team and Challenge Red shades with Wolf Grey and a white midsole for a crisp and clean look. Tonal designs like these have dominated the lifestyle market as it blossomed over the past several years; does a red-on-red palette like this have what it takes to stand up to the best themed LeBron 9 (Low) colorways in this fairly spectacular release cycle? Share your opinion below when you’re looking at these new photos and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. Photos: Chris Gotti
