nike lebron 9 kentucky pe ebay 570x427 Nike LeBron 9 University of Kentucky PE on eBay

With the NBA season delayed by a lockout, the Nike LeBron 9 made its October 2011 debut with a trio of college-inspired colorways.  One of these was made in the likeness of the University of Kentucky Wildcats, who also got PE versions of the LeBron 9 with their logo on the tongue.  That exceedingly rare design never hit retail, but if the price is right, you’ll be able to add them to your collection.  This white and blue makeup with ‘UK’ on the tongue is all the more significant with Kentucky winning its eighth National Championship to conclude the season, and given how passionate the Wildcats’ fanbase is, your interest in these should be expressed sooner rather than later now that they’re available from thecoolshoeshine on eBay.

nike lebron 9 unrelesed green christmas sample Nike LeBron 9 Unreleased Green Christmas Sample

The “Christmas” LeBron colorways have stuck with a red base for the past couple of iterations, usually letting green complete the yuletide look via the accents. Pictured here is an alternate take on the Nike LeBron 9 “Christmas” that would have toyed with that convention. The pair goes black and green on the upper, slides in some red laces, and skips out on any speckle treatment. Continue reading to get more on this rare LeBron sample, one that we’ve never seen before, and then check out the chance to own the size 9 now from marcieandlouise on eBay.

nike lebron 9 elite black red playoffs pe Nike LeBron 9 Elite 6 Logo PE

The Miami Heat had some high expectations for the 2012 NBA Playoffs. After all, they did project multiple championships, and after coming off a loss to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011, the Heat were even more prepared for the grueling second season known as the Playoffs. During the postseason, LeBron wore several PE colorways of the Nike LeBron 9 Elite, like this clean all-black version with a metallic red Swoosh. What we do get to see here is the dope “6″ logo on the inner side of the heel – a nice precursor to all the LeBron X joints that went with the anchored logo spot for all of its releases. We’ve got additional angles below so take a look and see the entire listing from ronnihughes on eBay.

The Nike Lebron X Low “2 Times Champ” seems to be the favorite out of the two pair Nike LeBron X “Championship Pack”. Proving that once again is another custom that attempts to port its look to over to a separate Nike LeBron model. That model would be the Nike LeBron 9 Elite, which is dressed up here by Nate Dockery. For what it’s worth the shoes also seem to dip into the “LeBronold Palmer” realm as well what with the colorful sections that hit across the upper piece of the shoe. See the full photos with us below and then tell us in the comments if you like what you see.

lebron china sneakers Chamber of Fear to Terracotta Warrior: The History of Nike LeBron China Editions

LeBron James emerged as a phenom in Akron as a nationally-recognized player for St. Vincent – St. Mary. He became a superstar in Cleveland, winning MVPs and Gold Medals with the Cavaliers. In Miami, he became a Champion, leading the Heat to two straight. LeBron James’ rise to legend-status can be tracked by specific regions, but here in the U.S., we often forget LeBron’s meteoric rise to fame in China, where the basketball crazed country has made the world’s best ballers like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant into god-like beings. LeBron James definitely belongs in that club, and over the last decade, Nike has taken a concerted effort in bringing a special treat to a country boasting the largest population in the world.

nike lebron 9 cork customs fbcc Nike LeBron 9 Cork Customs by FBCC

Is it possible that the “Cork” theme would have landed on the Nike Lebron 9 had King James and the Heat have had a championship to celebrate a year earlier? Unfortunately there’s really no telling how long the Nike folk were sitting on that idea, so we can’t call it. Imagining such a fate though is this Nike Lebron 9 “Cork” re-working, which even goes so far as to create its own Flywire detailing over the earthy upper. See the latest Cork pair of sneakers from the man known as FBCC and tell us in the comments if you’re feeling them.
