lebron 9 elite bangalike 9 Nike LeBron 9 Elite Big Bang Alike Customs by GourmetKickz

Even with the Nike LeBron X Elite, the popularity surrounding the custom/sample Nike LeBron 9 Elite is pretty high – mainly because there were such few colorways to go around. GourmetKickz hits us with a custom concept that is rather predictable, but he gives it some incredible detailing by using the Galaxy print on the upper Carbon Fiber panel, and giving glowing treatment to the aforementioned Galaxy panel as well as the outsole and the laces. Gourmetkickz isn’t done yet with his homage to the Galaxy All-Star Pack of 2012, so check out this custom below and let us know if you’d like to see more LeBron 9 Elite customs!

Nike LeBron 9 Elite “Championship” on eBay

April 11th, 2013 by | 7 comments

championship lebron 9 elite ebay Nike LeBron 9 Elite Championship on eBay

We already know LeBron James is ready for the Playoffs, considering his Heat squad already clinched Home Court throughout the postseason, and there’s talks already that the Heat will indeed repeat as champions. If they do, we can bet that Nike has a “Championship” version of the Elite X lined up, but how will it compare to the Nike LeBron 9 Elite that released last year? Considering the limited quantity and the nature of the release (it being LBJ’s first title), the Nike LeBron 9 Elite version might be a more attractive pick-up, so if you’re a popular size 10 and don’t want to shell out the money for the entire Pack, a solo pair just became available from sneakerchamp619 on eBay.

Nike LeBron 9 Elite “Statue of Liberty”

nike lebron 9 elite statue of liberty 1 Nike LeBron 9 Elite Statue of Liberty

The release of the “Statue of Liberty” colorway of the Hyperposites inspired several sneaker customizers to create their own Lady Liberty designs on various shoes, but based on this new development, it looks like Nike had internal plans as well for the Nike LeBron 9 Elite. This never-before-seen sample features the catchy mint green and gold colorway, although this doesn’t feature the streaks of gold that represents the rusted exterior of the historic landmark (although Mache’s version covered that quite nicely). Just like all the other LeBron 9 Elite bangers we saw (tonal Volts, Chinas, an so on), these never released and has no plans to do so, so feast your eyes here for a first look and let us know what you think.

nike lebron 9 weatherman customs Nike LeBron 9 Weatherman Customs by Twizz

Late 2011 was an amazing month for Kevin Durant thanks to the release of the both the Nerf and Weatherman, and today, both are still highly sought-after concepts in the sneaker custom realm. We’ve seen plenty of ‘Weatherman’ renditions on shoes, but not many have been crafted to perfection since the graphic print is so intricately designed. Twizz Customs recently upgraded his Weatherman LeBrons by adding custom laces to the set and although ‘Weatherman‘ is the immediate name given to the design, he calls these the “Al Roker 1.5″ – a tribute to one of the most recognizable weather dudes in TV history. Check out more of this nice custom below and stay tuned for more updates on the latest in the custom sneaker category.

Which LeBron 9 colorway in the vast library of PEs and releases that you’ve seen is your favorite? Chances are that this Chicago Sky colorway made for WNBA star Swin Cash isn’t in your radar. Combining a crisp sky blue upper reminiscent of the ‘China’ colorway and yellow accents on the Swoosh, Flywire wing panel, and speckled midsole, this great PE colorway is as basic as they come – yet it still stands out with ease. The asking price may be pretty steep, but this unreleased version of the LeBron 9 is as rare as they come, so enjoy the gallery of photos below and see the full listing from ronimo1989 on eBay.

Nike LeBron 9 “What The LeBron” on eBay

what the lebron nike lebron 9 unreleased Nike LeBron 9 What The LeBron on eBay

With a shoe as wildly constructed like the What The LeBrons, it’s all in the details. We’re not talking about the Galaxy lining or the Watch The Throne laces, but some of the lesser known features of the shoe that we can’t help but point out. For one, the inner production tag on the shoes mark these as a Holiday 2011 sample, which is when the LeBron 9 first launched. However, the insoles feature the MVP Trophy logos, detailing LeBron’s three awards in 2009, 2010, and 2012. How does that timing work out? Or did Nike boldly predict that LeBron would bounce back and win the MVP again? In any case, these incredible shoes will have you muttering “What The…” to yourself, and since a release is pretty much an impossibility at this point, check out this listing for a rare size 7.5 from ronimo1989 on eBay.

nike lebron 9 curtiss p 40 warhawk customs by smoothtip Nike LeBron 9 Curtiss P 40 Warhawk Customs by SmoothTip

The Nike LeBron 9 isn’t new to the military theme – in fact, one of the earliest releases and among the most popular of the LeBron 9 cycle is the ‘Cannon’ colorway, which was inspired by a military base where the Miami Heat did their offseason training. SmoothTip comes through with something a bit more of that Armed Forces flair, using two different colors of camouflage print while spraying one faux rivets to give the shoe the appeal of a Curtiss P-40 Warhawk fighter plane. If you’re interested in these military-inspired LeBron 9s, visit the SmoothTip store directly to get yours – it”ll run you a cool $500.
