Nike LeBron 9 “Wounded Warrior Project” Customs By Mache

nike lebron 9 wounded warrior project customs 9 Nike LeBron 9 Wounded Warrior Project Customs By Mache

Mache’s stock is continues its steady climb as we get a look at his latest custom work made for the Wounded Warrior Project, a charitable organization developed to honor and empower those wounded in the line of duty. Mache was commissioned directly by the Wounded Warrior Project to make a pair of custom LeBron 9s inspired by a warhawk-style plane, as seen here by the sharks-teeth at the toe and the rivets that fasten the metal sheets in place. This project was close to Mache’s heart as his own father was a Wounded Warrior, but the sheer effort and artistry put into this custom work shows that Mache gave his most inspired effort to complete this custom. The Nike LeBron 9 ‘Wounder Warrior Project’ will be a one-of-one custom and will only be available at the Rhode Island Sneaker Xchange on September 2nd, where the shoes will be raffled off. A certain treat for fans of the LeBron, of Mache’s work, and members of the U.S. Armed Forces, so check out the gallery below and let us know where these rank among Mache Customs‘ best work.

The Nike LeBron 9 (undoubtedly the most illustrious chapter of the Nike LeBron saga) will come to a close fairly soon, but before LBJ and Nike celebrate ten years of magic with the Nike LeBron X, it appears that they may have one more trick up their sleeve. Here’s a look at the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Think Pink’; the ‘Think Pink’ campaign was created to raise breast cancer awareness and stands strong with the tonal pink colorway and the Kay Yow ribbon logo (seen on the tongue of the LeBron 9). We have yet to see a ‘Think Pink’ version of a Nike LeBron signature shoe – could this be the first? Check out the additional angles below and we’ll keep you in tune with developments. via thehaterboxden on NT

nike lebron 9 brightest galaxy customs by gourmet kickz Nike LeBron 9 Brightest Galaxy Customs by Gourmet Kickz

The whole ‘Galaxy’ theme as first established by Nike’s huge All-Star Game pack for 2012 has sort of taken the torch from the ‘South Beach’ palette as the go-to custom colorway. Since the release of the original set we’ve seen a handful of homemade sneaker creators interpret the design in their own way, at times applying a bit more of a starry look to models like the Nike LeBron 9. The latest to do that is the Nike LeBron 9 ‘Brightest Galaxy’ by Gourmet Kickz, a sneaker which opts for much more glow than the retail version of the LeBron 9 ‘Galaxy’, also ditching the orange palette in favor of this cold, spacey combo. Click through with us to see the newest Nike LeBron 9 custom from Gourmet and let us know in the comments below if you think they one-upped the released pair.

LeBron James and Kevin Durant clashed at the grand NBA Finals stage, but what if the two superstars joined forces? We’ll get a look at the two most dynamic ballers this August during the Olympic games, but this sneaker custom, inspired by LBJ and KD’s recent match-up, features the two working rather harmoniously. Combining the LeBron 9 build with the Weatherman detailing (which Durant called his favorite of the KD IV bunch), sneaker customizer Sab-One implanted the brightly-colored graphics like the thermo-graphics on the tongue and medial ankle as well as footprint on the insole. We’ve seen KD IV meet LeBron 9 in previous ‘Nerf’ customs, but do these reign supreme? Check out the detailed gallery below and let us know what you think.

Nike LeBron 9 “UNDFTD” Customs by FRESH&Fly

nike lebron 9 undftd customs by fresh fly Nike LeBron 9 UNDFTD Customs by FRESH&Fly

Even if it wasn’t arguably the reigning NBA Finals MVP’s best Nike Basketball signature to date, even if the Elite designs hadn’t reset the bar when it comes to on-court performance — the sheer number of Nike LeBron 9 color-swap customs are a clear indication of just how popular this shoe really is.  But even with all these experimental colorups and the general trend toward neutral and otherwise more ‘wearable’ designs, we hadn’t yet seen this shoe take on the look of the most desired Air Jordan collaboration to date.  That changes with our first look at the ‘UNDFTD’ LeBron 9, as CH1CO from FRESH&Fly hits us with the military-inspired Undefeated look set off by orange accents including the stitching on an Elephant print Swoosh.  Clck through to see these in greater detail, let us know what you think about switching the woven side panels for a 1000 denier military grade Cordura nylon and let us know if you’ll order a pair of the limited edition run that’s set to begin production in mid-July.  via N-SB

Nike LeBron 9 Elite “Sex on the Beach” Customs By Twizz

lebron 9 sex on the beach custom Nike LeBron 9 Elite Sex on the Beach Customs By Twizz

Sometimes you can pick out a trend in the customs world based on which sneakers are hitting the sales racks, with creators a bit more willing to remix a pair if the initial investment isn’t too high. Lately though we’ve seen quite the opposite, with quite a few folks putting their own personal touches on the $250 Nike LeBron 9 Elite. Customizer Twizz went even further by utilizing the Nike LeBron 9 Elite ‘Miami Vice’ as his baseline, no doubt the most sought after sneaker in this year’s LBJ colleciton. The so called ‘Sex on the Beach’ pair is sort of an intersection between the South Beach style of the retail version and the splattered ‘Flamingo’ graphics from that oh so exclusive Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low. Stay with us after the jump for the upclose shots and let us know what you think of the Nike LeBron 9 Elite ‘Sex on the Beach’.

Nike LeBron 9 “Alley Art” Customs By Peculiar Kinetics

June 14th, 2012 by | 23 comments

nike lebron 9 alley art 5 Nike LeBron 9 Alley Art Customs By Peculiar Kinetics

The Nike LeBron 9 is a spectacular performance machine, and though its techy build is the kind of thing that’s become far more ‘wearable’ in the context of slimmer pants, these do have the kind of versatility of older, more traditional designs like the Air Jordan VI in the sense that they’ve become arguably the most popular ‘blank canvas’ for custom designs.  We’ve seen countless color-swaps on the LeBron 9, but this latest concept from Peculiar Kinetics proves that their movements are indeed unorthodox.  This ‘Alley Art’ LeBron 9 ends up being one of the most intriguing customs applied to this silo as a result, its colorful palette and graffiti-inspired styling reminiscent of the high-energy colorways that have done so well during this product cycle.  Have a closer look at these after the jump, let us know how they compare to the best LeBron 9 and other customs seen here on Sneaker News and check back with us for the newest custom kicks.
