Nike LeBron X “Carbon” – Release Reminder

Tonal-black has been a mainstay for the Nike LeBron since the third pro-model, but for the first time, Nike has taken this rather stoic (yet popular) colorway and given it a unique spin by appointing it as the ‘Carbon’. Under heavy atmospheric pressure, carbon eventually becomes diamonds, but don’t confuse these as being inferior in any way; in fact, the ‘Carbon’ represents LeBron James’ heart and soul to the core, and on a technical standpoint, carbon fiber has been a pivotal element in Nike LeBron design for years. Tomorrow’s the official release date for these much-anticipated sneakers, so check out this amazing gallery of images and don’t miss out by getting them now on eBay.

Nike LeBron X “Carbon” – Arriving at Retailers

The sixth element on the periodic table is integral to humanity’s sense of time, from its place in the transience that is organic life to providing a historical context for relics, and in this case, commemorating the coronation of a dominant young king.  The Nike LeBron X ‘Carbon’ is a blackout colorway with silver branding, and with the LeBron X’s textured Hyperfuse build, even if the main color is black, the effect is like a shimmering piece of (A)nthracite (a secondary shade in this palette).  December 1st is shaping up to be a big day and the hits keep coming, so stick with Sneaker News as we keep up with the breakneck holiday season pace this year and check out some new images before these ‘Carbon’ LeBron Xs hit Nike Basketball stores like Politics.

Earlier today we showed you another Miami-inspired colorway of the LeBron X, a newly crowned ‘staple’ of the Nike LeBron catalog. But the ‘Blackout’ has been around since the LeBron III and traditionally, the all-blacks have been dropped earlier than most and with a December 1st release date now confirmed by Nike for the Carbons and the Dolphins hitting in 2013, it’s clear that nothing has changed. Against, the first of December is the day to cop the Carbons, so check out the new images below and cop them in advance from vipexclusives on eBay.

J.R. Smith in Nike LeBron X “Carbon”

October 16th, 2012 by | 4 comments

jr smith nike lebron x carbon 1 J.R. Smith in Nike LeBron X Carbon

Yes, we’re talkin’ ’bout practice and not an actual NBA game, but what went down at Knicks training facility and J.R. Smith is worth noting. During a team training camp, Knicks guard and noted sneakerhead J.R. Smith was spotted with the Nike LeBron X ‘Carbon’, a shoe that LeBron himself just recently wore over the weekend in a pre-season game in Shanghai. Typically, no other NBA player gets to rock a pair of LeBrons before the man himself has done so in an NBA Game, and even with the 9, only a small handful of players even wore the LeBrons deep into the season (Ty Lawson and George Hill are the two that come to mind). Considering the ‘Carbon’ has yet to release in the states (November 10th is the confirmed release date at this point), it’s interesting to see that J.R. sought after these Blackout LeBrons and made the decision to wear ‘em at his own pleasure. Will the LeBron X be J.R.’s go-to choice for this season?

The LeBron X foundation in the diamond has opened up some interesting back-stories for the colorways, like ‘Carbon’, which transforms into Diamond under immense atmospheric pressure. This unique spin on the classic ‘Blackout’ features a tonal black colorway with hints of Metallic Silver and Anthracite on the shoe, giving this release a tough, elemental appeal while maintaining the luxurious and chiseled LeBron X form. No solid release date has been set just yet, but we can confirm that these are in fact the regular, non-Nike+ edition. More of the Carbons just below, so take a look and see what the final bidding price was on the closed listing from from darthyoda56 on eBay.

Nike LeBron X “Carbon”

What happens to carbon under immense atmospheric pressure? It becomes the most prized jewel in the world – the diamond. LeBron James’ story sorta follows along the process of carbon to diamond, does it not? James, under worlds of pressure, finally reaches the breaking point and becomes the best in the game, winning a Championship and Gold Medal with all of the fix-ins in between. Today, we get a first look at the tonal black LeBron X of this cycle, and given unique graphic on the medial heel of the shoe, we can only guess that ‘carbon into diamond’ is what Jason Petrie and Nike Basketball colorists had in mind (may we remind you that ’6′ is the atomic number for carbon as well). A detailed gallery is just ahead, so check out this nice twist on ‘Blackout’ below and let us know what you think.
