LeBron James is about to find out what it’s like to defend an NBA Championship and his Nike Basketball signatures are looking to keep their streak alive with another kind of back-to-back. The Nike LeBron X+ iD starts a tradition by following up on last year’s supremely popular customization canvas and adding that ring-celebrating banner-raftering swagger along with Nike+ integration. The LeBron 10 iD debuts next Tuesday, October 9th just before King James and the Heat take on Lob City for two Chinese exhibitions, so stick with Sneaker News for updates on both the NIKEiD options and all of LeBron’s 2012-13 sneaker stylings.

Sneaker News recently confirmed the release date of the Nike LeBron X+ “USA Gold Medal” for September the 29th, but looks like there’s another LeBron X colorway in the mix – and it’s arriving as soon as this Saturday. The Fireberry/Metallic Gold colorway seen here was first previewed as a basic Red/White colorway, but this new detailed shot reveals some exciting details, like the Fireberry pink Swoosh outline and outsole and the grey/black speckled midsole. The folks who read this site on the regular were those no doubt most numb to the initial info that the Nike LeBron X+ complete with the Sport Pack gear would be a shoe tipping the scales at just over $300. Once the mainstream media blew the story up a bit, Nike seemed to have taken notice, with word arriving that the new bar would be set at $290. The latest news from the mouth of Nike spokesman Brian Strong is that the Nike LeBron X+ (Sport Pack and all) will be available at a retail price of $270, with the option available to pick up the sneakers by themselves sans all the Nike+ gear for $200, making it so the folks who are going in on multiple colorways don’t have all the extra doo-dads lying around and are left with a sizable chunk of cash in their pockets. Also the non-plus versions will of course be in the mix as well with the pricing there being $180. Let us know in the comments if this reworked pricing structure makes you more likely to cop and stick with us for when the Nike LeBron X+ officially arrives. And if you wanna pick up a pair early, then check out this USA version available now from westside0202 on eBay.

Coming off an NBA Title and an Olympic Gold Medal, expectations are expectedly high for the Nike LeBron X (and at a $300+ price-tag, Nike is aiming high). As we’ve filled you in here on Sneaker News, the LeBron X saga began in China, where LeBron took a mini-tour not long after his London affair, and as a special release during a Nike Basketball in-store event, Nike put together this limited edition version of the Nike LeBron X+ USA in a white/gold box packaging. These were released only at that event and according to a lucky individual who was present at the event, just eight units were released! We’ve got a look at the White Box Edition here, so take a look and place your bids in right now at the auction from soleland on eBay.
