Nike LeBron X EXT “Red Wine Suede” Customs by Zadeh Kicks

The Nike LeBron X “Red Suede” was one of the weirder sample pairs to hit from LeBron’s line this year. The sneakers had the look of an EXT release but were actually of the standard, Nike+ persuasion. Shown here is an interesting take on the model, a custom done by one Zadeh Kicks that brings a deep red wine suede look onto the EXT build of the sneaker. The shoes also bring in a bit more black than the aforementioned sample, further differentiating themselves from anything we’ve seen from the Nike LeBron X. Get more on the creation after the jump and let us know in the comments whether they beat out the red suede sample.

Nike LeBron X “Neon 95″ by Mache Customs

The Nike Air Max 95 “Neon” look is going to be around forever. That’s been proven again and again by Nike themselves, who have shown their allegiance towards that gradient look by bringing it back year in and year out via Hyperfuse, Tape, and No-Sew remixes. This time around it’s custom man Mache who brings the style back around, opting to port it over onto the LeBron line for a minute. The result sort of ignores the typical lines of the Nike LeBron X, instead recreating the iconic fade across the upper. Nike LeBron Black Collection Display at Nike WHQ

nike lebron black collection display whq Nike LeBron Black Collection Display at Nike WHQ

LeBron James spent some time on August 13th traversing the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, OR by foot and by bicycle, making some pit-stops at a LeBron sand sculpture (yes, the Portland area has sand) and an interesting display inside the WHQ walls. Ten years of Nike LeBron greatness were up for viewing, with each of LBJ’s signature models individually encased along a straight line makeshifting a metaphorical road to the Nike LeBron 11. The entire set was in an all-black format – some of which we’ve seen before, some not at all, but all amazing. With two NBA Titles, two Olympic Gold Medals, four NBA MVPs, and a Dunk Contest Trophy already under the man’s belt, it seems timely for Nike to embark on a LeBron retrospective of some sort, and we can most certainly expect a story-line with the debut of the LeBron 11.

Like it or not, this interesting display brings us back yet again to the topic of the Nike LeBron Retro. If you compare the trajectory of the Air Jordan and the Nike LeBron, you’d realize that the two could not be more different. Air Jordans made their Retro debut in 1994 when MJ was thought to be done with the game, while LeBron James has shown zero signs of desire to hang ‘em up earlier than usual. More importantly, the Air Jordan line was all about sleek and stylish design opposed to the Nike LeBron, which is revered for its robust innovative upgrades like Dynamic Flywire, Hyperfuse, full-length Zoom and much, much more. ┬áSo while it would be nice for Nike to celebrate ten years of LeBron in some way, is a bringback of the early models – namely the Air Zoom Generation that LeBron himself wore just a few days ago – the way to do it? There’s more to come for sure, so check out the video that LeBron James himself took for his IG followers and let us know what your expectations are for a LeBron Retro movement.

Before these shoes were chopped up and remastered into gas masks or Gundam-like figurines, Vinti Andrews, a collaborative duo comprised of London-based Vinti Tan and Paul Andrews, has been recreating life-sized dog sculptures with some keynote kicks. Back in 2009, we showed you an Air Jordan V and Nike Air dog sculpture they did, with Nike itself commissioning the duo to create some special pieces for special events. This one’s got a focus on this year’s All-Star Weekend sneaker capsule known as “Area 72″, with the LeBron X, Kobe 8, Barkley Posite Max, and much more making up the anatomy of the Nike Area 72 Pitbull Dog. We’ve got some views of the complete piece as well as some of the making-of stages, so check it out below and leave us a comment.

That’s right, he wore both of them via the old half time switcheroo technique.
