nike lunar blazer 2 0 Nike Upgrades the Lunar Blazer to 2.0

In recent years we’ve seen proprietary Nike technologies applied to hallmark basketball models quite a bit, with the Nike Dunk going Free on us and the Nike Blazer going Lunar. The Nike Lunar Blazer is actually being revamped this year and becoming the Nike Lunar Blazer 2.0, which strips a couple of panels away from the model and uses a sublimated tape look in place of traditional stitching. Is it an upgrade to the previous iteration Nike Lunar Blazer? Give us your thoughts on that down in the comments check back in with us for word on their US arrival.

Nike Lunar Blazer – Dark Loden – Parachute Gold

Nike Sportswear’s updated Blazer with LunarLon sole hasn’t been nearly as prolific as some of their other tech upgrades on classic models (particularly the Air Max runners). The Nike Lunar Blazer is taking a slow and steady approach, which seems fitting, given that it was built from the first ever Swoosh basketball shoe and has a legacy stretching across five decades. This new style has a bit of ‘Kings Pride’ to it with a Dark Loden upper and Parachute Gold sole, but they’re set apart from that LeBron 11 colorway because of zebra striping on the heel. Click through to see some more angles and stick with Sneaker News for word on a US release because these just dropped over in Korea.

Nike Lunar Blazer – Stadium Grey – Pure Platinum

A spiritual successor to the Super Blazer, the Nike Lunar Blazer replaces Beaverton’s first basketball shoe’s signature woodgrain vulcanized sole with the distinctive LunarLon platform. They’ve also added a pronounced heel counter to the mix, the result of which is a classic blucher (suede with mesh accents, in this case) fitted with the kind of tech that, if Rasheed Wallace could wear Air and Lunar Force 1s in NBA games, suggests some performance capabilities. Click through to see the upcoming Stadium Grey and Pure Platinum colorway in more photos and check out the sample available now from saltyseanut on eBay.

Nike Lunar Blazer – Black – Bright Red

The revamped Blazer has been a head turner for sure, with the retooled upper getting attached to a redesigned Lunar outsole with an old-school vulcanized sole frame. So while a wide U.S. release hasn’t gone down yet (only that White/Camo joint hit Nikestore so far), the judgement’s still out on this Blazer 2.0 of sorts, and we can honestly say it’s a difficult task to re-do the trailblazer of Nike Basketball shoes. This Black/Bright Red colorway has an eye-catching colorway for sure, so check out the detailed gallery below and we’ll let you know when a U.S. release of this Nike Lunar Blazer arrives.

Nike Lunar Blazer “Camo Swoosh”

nike lunar blazer white hyper blue black 570x417 Nike Lunar Blazer Camo Swoosh

What exactly does elephant print have to do with the Nike Lunar Blazer? We’re not exactly sure how that iconic Air Jordan pattern found its way onto this new age lifestyle shoe but it is indeed there, along with a colorful bit of camo that can be found on the Swoosh. For what it’s worth, the elephant ends up pretty subdued, popping up in a grey/white mixture that doesn’t really jump out against the white background of the sneakers. Continue reading to see more on this Nike Lunar Blazer “Camo Swoosh” release and then, if you like what you see, grab them now from Nikestore.
