Nike Lunar Flow PRM “Pinnacle Collection”

Introduced last year alongside the first Air Flow retros, the Nike Lunar Flow has appeared in Hyperfuse, (woven) suede and slat-perfed leather styles to date. The last one stands out as the most luxurious and offers a middle ground between retro runners and something like a Cole Haan Lunar offering. Over six months after the last retail drop, Nike Sportswear issues three new speckle-soled Quickstrikes that show us the layered look is still very much at the peak of its powers. Your choice of Obsidian, Black Tea or Metallic Dark Grey brings along blue, red and yellow soles, respectively, each of which you can see up close individually below before buying at Caliroots.

Nike Be True Pride Pack

nike lunar flow be true pride 2 Nike Be True Pride Pack

Nike forever changed history in 1985 when the ‘Original 7′ collegiate basketball programs suited up in the OG ‘Be True to Your School’ Dunks.  These original Dunks defined the default colorblocking pattern and immortalized Arizona, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Syracuse, UNLV and Villanova’s team colors in the process.  Now, some thirty-two years later, we’ve seen plenty of reprisals of that debut theme, and this latest one seeks to shine some colorful light on three US cities that’ve made good on the potential of human understanding symbolized by colleges and universities.  Nike Be True 2012 celebrates how New York, San Francisco and Portland have become beacons for the LGBT community, issuing city-specific footwear designs along with an accompanying hat and tee later this month.  The Nike Air Royal pictured above will arrive at Niketown NYC next Friday, June 22nd, so click through for more images as well as details on the Portland Lunar Flow and San Francisco Air Flytop.

It’s clear that some of the most creative and visionary minds of footwear and apparel design are centralized in Beaverton, OR. One such individual is Nathan Van Hook, who has created quite the list of achievements in his run as Senior Footwear Designer for NSW; Sneaker News had the opportunity to pick his brain when his Aina Chukka released in early Summer 2010, and during the two years that passed, Van Hook has penned some of the sickest NSW offerings, like the Nike Zoom Meriwether and Nike Lunar MacLeay. Today, we get a visual exploration of Van Hook’s design concepts, as seen in his preliminary sketches and 3-D renderings. Just how does an idea become a sneaker? A quick look at Van Hook’s sketches below might answer that question.

The relatively low number of woven releases coming out of Nike in recent years is about to see a sharp increase. In fact, if you lump in all the Fly Knit madness going then you’ve got quite a jump in the trend line for sneakers bearing the textile appeal. Among the pending pairs it’s hard not to be happy about the Nike Lunar Flow Woven QS, which sees the treatment applied in a manner most akin to the original string of woven releases, with a handful of colors checked across the toe box and side panels in a patterned matter. We’ve got some quality pics of both pairs waiting for you, so hit the jump to check those out. You can cop now from mita sneakers if you’re extra eager, or keep your fingers crossed for a US release.

What is it about the Nike Lunar Flow that makes the boys out in Beaverton keep going back to the drawing board with these? The material flips don’t stop, with the latest one on its way being the woven version. Fortunately though the chapter isn’t quite closed on the Nike Lunar Flow PRM, as we’ve got a quick look here at a soft grey colorway in the works. The premium leather on top along with the horizontal perforations make these perhaps the classiest Lunar equipped shoe you can find short of the Nike x Cole Haan LunarGrand Wingtip. Stay with use after the jump for some up close shots and let us know in the comments if you’re fiending for more of the Nike Lunar Flow PRM. via TTB
