The most recent Lunar Hyperdunk preview we showed you here on Sneaker News had a bit of Oregon Ducks vibe about it thanks to the Gorge Green accents on its eye-catching Volt base. This new Nike Lunar Hyperdunk+ might stretch toward Oregon’s Pac-12 rival USC, but it’s more likely that this University Gold and University Red combo was crafted with the host of the OG Hyperdunk debut’s flag in mind. This yellow and red combo would be perfect as a China PE, or even Spain might see some use in this pair for a sort of ‘alternate’ look. Check them out up close below, let us know how you think the colorway translates to the Lunar Hyperdunk’s exposed Flywire design and stick with Sneaker News for more previews and updates as we approach the June 29th launch date.

When Nike’s Lunar foam debuted back around the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the original Lunar Racer and Trainer stood out against the entire crowd of Zoom and Max Air-cushioned runners that came before it (as well as all the other brands’ output). Especially on the Trainer, the sole was conspicuously wider than its upper and with the bottom in all-neon, you simply couldn’t miss them. Fast forward to the next Olympic summer and the Hyperdunk series that also debuted in ’08 finally crosses paths with Lunar cushioning, this Nike Lunar Hyperdunk+ also exactly the kind of thing that you can’t even pretend not to see. These have an Oregon football vibe about them thanks to the Gorge Green accents on this otherwise Volt design, but instead of a duck as one of the insole’s icons, there’s a jackrabbit denoting ‘SPEED’. Click through to see the other two that mark this pair’s footbed as well as a host of other details and stick with Sneaker News to find out when the first Lunar Hyperdunk release date goes down.

The Nike Lunar Hyperdunk+ is set to debut later this year as Team USA prepares to defend its 2008 Gold Medal in London. As we alluded to earlier, the International competition has heated up considerably, with France being one team to look out for thanks to first-ballot Hall-Of-Famer and floor general of the perennially contending San Antonio Spurs. While the French Nike athlete won’t be rocking these this Summer, there’s a good chance that he’ll be rocking a PE of the Lunar Hyperdunk+ similar to this once the 2012-13 NBA Season arrives. More of this slick White/Black/Silver colorway just ahead, so take a look and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more great colorways of this beefed up Hyperdunk! Photos: ult

Nike is leading the push for basketball for the future, with the Nike Lunar Hyperdunk being the flagship model to pave the way for new-age design and concepts. A basketball-specific Lunar-built outsole, thick Flywire cables exposed on the upper, and a daunting Swoosh placement on the forefoot summarizes the next Hyperdunk of the 21st-Century born species, and it certainly is beefed up from the last 2011 model, isn’t it? Today, we bring you a look at some upcoming colorways, like these three nation-specific joints as well as eight team-based finishes that should arrive in the Fall 2012 season. Check ‘em all out below and let us know which of the grouping you see below catches your eye! Photos: bostonmarc on NT/homestead

It’s no secret that the rest of the world has covered a ton of ground and perhaps are on par with Team USA in terms of basketball skill. 2004 was a tragic reminder that the USA does have some competition, but there’s no doubt that Team USA is by the most athletic group of ballers in the world. They run and jump faster than higher than anyone else, and come this August, they’ll get to record their impressive feats with the new Nike+ integrated Lunar Hyperdunk+; exposed Flywire cables give the Hyperdunk a menacing attitude while the Swoosh placement at the forefoot and the medial sidewall of the heel provide ample Nike banners, giving the upcoming Lunar Hyperdunk+ a prideful stance as it flies up and down the international court. We’ve got some nice angles for you below, so take a look and stay tuned for more Olympic-inspired footwear coming your way soon! Photos: ult
