Still in its first version while some of Nike Running’s other LunarLon-cushioned kicks are in their second and third generations, the Nike LunarEclipse+ finds itself as one of the Swoosh’s longest running silhouettes as of this point in history. Their unique combination of breathable mesh and Flywire on the upper can be seen to foreshadow the unprecedented Flywire/Hyperfuse combo just unveiled on the LeBron 9 and this new black and Max Orange colorway isn’t too far off from having a Miami Heat-leaning look. Given its timing on the eve of the new college football season and with NCAA roundball right around the corner, we wouldn’t blame you for expecting a great start followed by a subsequent disintegration. But despite the similarity in color choices, Nike Running does not equal the Clemson Tigers, and you can expect several hundred miles (if not into the four-digit range) of consistent excellence from the Nike LunarEclipse+. This Wine and Team Orange pair is done with lady runners in mind, though this colorway is bold enough to make them relatively gender neutral for guys whose sizes allow them to fit a pair. There’s also an earthy pair in Iguana with Sonic Yellow hits on tap, so click through to get a better look and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via SF

The Nike LunarEclipse+ debuted in 2010 and became an instant eye-catcher, with some viewers calling it the best Nike Lunar shoe to date. That’s quite a relief, because the LunarEclipse is priced considerably higher than other Lunar running shoes (the widely popular LunarGlide+ 2 is $30 less), and some might think $130 might be just a bit too much for a Nike Lunar running shoe. For one, it’s one of the most comfortable Nike running shoes ever created. Two, the design is specifically engineered to pair with the supremely comfortable LunarLite cushioning and to reduce weight where unnecessary. This new colorway combines a deep Obsidian tone with vibrant splashes of Chlorine Blue on the Flywire panel and portions of the inner lining, with a white swoosh on the outer heel. On the sole is a lime-green strike pod with a translucent sea green outsole. Summer’s upon us so pick up these sick new running shoes now from steptorun on eBay.
