Nike LunarGlide+ 4 “Wolf Grey”

Nike continues to treat some of its top new styles to baptism by Fireberry, this latest release expanding the scope of that WBF-inspired colorup from the Basketball division over to Running. The feather-light and supremely comfortable Nike LunarGlide+ 4 looks spectacular in Wolf Grey with Fireberry and (presumably) Dynamic Blue accents, but the real clincher is how dope the top layer of LunarLon looks covered in speckes of that same blue shade. They have a balancing effect on an otherwise ‘blank’ Wolf Grey upper, and your eye will naturally be drawn toward details like the Dynamic Flywire cables up close after the jump below.

Nike Running connected its most cutting edge designs with the look of a classic ‘Vintage Box’ release when they issued the first Shield Collection last fall in grey and orange.  This year’s update sees the grey tones swapped for something more in line with 2012′s top colorways, as a black-based design adds reflective elements and vivid green soles to models like the new Nike LunarGlide+4, Free Run+ 3, Air Pegasus+ 29 and Lunarspeed Lite+.  All four should arrive next month with Durable Water Repellant material to keep the winter weather out while you stay at the peak of your game, so be sure to check back with Sneaker News for specifics on the release and click through for more in the meantime.

Lance Armstrong retired from cycling in 2005 after capturing his seventh consecutive Tour de France title, but even though he hasn’t worn the yellow jersey for a period long enough to constitute an entirely new personality construct, the Nike LIVESTRONG capsule continues to win like the race was set in Pittsburgh. The latest Swoosh kicks to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s fight against cancer is this LIVESTRONG x Nike LunarGlide+ 4, the current LunarLon running flagship featuring Varsity Maize accents on a black base plus silver and white hits. The Dynamic Flywire in particular reminds us of how Wieden+Kennedy sparked a whole generation of gel bracelets, and you’ll find the LIVESTRONG LunarGlide 4s available at Finish Line.

With all the hype surrounding Michael Phelps’ ascension into the Olympic pantheon, some have questioned whether reigning World’s Fastest Man Usain Bolt could rack up a similar medals tally if he ran more different kinds of races.  Bolt is untouchable on flat ground over relatively short distances, but similar praise could have been offered for triple crown-winning Chinese hurdler Liu ‘Fly Man’ Xiang at a point earlier this decade.  Xiang was unable to defend his 110m gold in Beijing four years ago because of injury, but Nike hasn’t forgotten that about one of China’s greatest athletes is on the hunt to reclaim his crown.  The Liu Xiang x Nike LunarGlide+ 4 suggests LX might have something extra left as he approaches another Olympic competition endangered by injury, the familiar China-red hits drawing your eye toward gold just like Liu.  Click through to see more of this Liu Xiang LunarGlide 4 and find them now along with the ‘Dream Pack’ Cortez at select Nike Running retailers across China.  via FRESHNESS
