NIKE MAG 2011 The Nike Mag 2011 is a sneaker released in that same year styled after the pair that the character Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) famously wore in Back to the Future 2. A limited run of 1,500 pairs were produced and sold exclusively on eBay, with all proceeds funding the Michael J. Fox Foundation to fight Parkinson’s Disease. The sneakers closely mimic those seen in the film, with a futuristic LED glow kit embedded in the design.

Missed out on the Nike Mags, or can’t get yourself to wear ‘em around? You can fashion your own pair of customs like FlawlessV of NT did, by using a pair of Radii high-tops to create a ‘wearable’ pair of Nike Mags to beat around. These won’t light up, they won’t self-lace, and you definitely won’t fool anyone with these replicas, but as long as you have some fabric paint, a pair of scissors, and a few spare hours, you’ve got yourself a pair of custom Mags! We can understand that it’s tough to wear around a pair of sneakers that cost a few thousand dollars, so let us know if you’d consider rocking these Nike Mag 2011 customs.

Kid Cudi Talks Nike Mag 2011 On Conan

kid cudi nike mag conan 04 Kid Cudi Talks Nike Mag 2011 On Conan

Kid Cudi lied about copping four pairs of the Nike Mag 2011. He actually bought five. During last night’s episode of Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Kid Cudi revealed that he dropped roughly a year’s worth of college tuition on the Nike Mag 2011 eBay auctions – four for himself and a fifth pair for his girlfriend Jamie Baratta. To end up with five pairs is quite the impressive feat, especially considering Kid Cudi isn’t a weathered veteran of the ebay game; he created an eBay account right before the Nike Mag 2011 auctions. Check out some stills as well as Kid Cudi’s interview after the jump and let us know what you think!

The Nike Mag 2011s were certainly a huge celebrity draw, and the sneakerheads in that category definitely put up the dollars to guarantee themselves their Nike Mags. Kid Cudi claimed to have won four (yes, four) pairs of the Nike Mag 2011, and he recently broke out pair numero uno at a party thrown by Complex and Bacardi, during which he was the guest of honor (he graced the cover of Complex’s The Music Issue). Cudi was spotted with Mags on stage, lounging around, enjoying his drinks, and partying it up with his How To Make It In America co-stars, so check out the Mags in on-feet action below and stick with Sneaker News for more Nike Mag 2011 sightings!

nike mag 2011 on feet video summary Nike Mag 2011 On Feet Video

All 1,500 pairs of the Nike Mag 2011 have begun to appear on door-steps, and just last week we showed you the ‘unboxing’ experience of the Mag 2011 as well as the instruction booklet that accompanied with the shoes. We’ve already shown you Kanye West and Brian Wilson wear their pairs outdoors, but pint-sized sneaker fiend Franalations had put a video of the Nike Mag 2011 on feet, just to give you a look at how they appear when worn out in public. Of course, the shoes will definitely turn heads with the ‘wow’ factor alone, but no matter how cool the shoe really looks, only Michael J. Fox can really pull them off. Check out the full video below and let us know what you think, and if you’re bummed that you missed out on a pair, remember that some pairs have been re-listed on eBay.

Nike Mag 2011 Instruction Booklet

September 23rd, 2011 by | 24 comments

nike mag 2011 instruction booklet summary Nike Mag 2011 Instruction Booklet

What do with the Nike Mag 2011: Light ‘em up, wear ‘em, make your pals jealous. What not to do with the Nike Mag 2011: Wear them in the rain, try to fly like Michael Jordan, take ‘em apart. The Nike Mag 2011 is about as much unwearable as it is wearable. It is, without a doubt, one of the coolest releases to ever leave Beaverton, OR, but the two sides of the inevitable struggle that will rise up is: Do I wear them, or do I display them? The Mag 2011 is more than a sneaker, but a piece of historic art that signifies one of Nike’s most significant moments in history, and the last thing you’d want to do is ruin a pair of sneakers that would be virtually impossible to get at the right price. SF Giants pitcher Brian Wilson and hip-hop mega-star Kanye West wore ‘em – will you? Just make sure you follow the directions. Check out the Nike Mag 2011 Instruction Booklet below and let us know – if you got a pair of the Nike Mag 2011, would you rock, or put them on display? via YMW.
