nike phenomenal house paris An Incredible Display of Legendary Nike Sneakers at Phenomenal House Paris

Nike continues to set up shop all over Europe as a means of galvanizing the soccer community out there in anticipation of the 2014 World Cup. Last time we saw them in Madrid with a global conference that introduced the latest of their performance football footwear, and this time they’re in France with the Nike Phenomenal House build. The Risk Everything themed set up had plenty of Franco-footwear on display, like the Nike SB Dunk Low “Paris”, the Nike Air Max 1 that found its inspiration in a certain Parisian building, and more. Continue reading to get a look and stop by the Nike Phenomenal House at 4 Rue Eugène Spuller in Paris if you’re in the area.

Nike Mayfly Woven TZ

The Nike Mayfly was conceived as an ultra-lightweight distance runner whose slight build suggests it’s a relatively short-term investment.  And given the presumably limited middle ground between tag-popping ultramarathoners and the sneakerhead population, the Mayfly’s most attractive feature might be its distinct upper pattern.  That’s gone in the latest rendition, though it’s easy to see how the Nike Mayfly Woven builds on that base.  Instead of a printed design on a nylon upper, the Mayfly Woven offers a suede build whose unique weave means you’ll be able to add a color pop with carefully selected socks.  Check them out after the jump and let us know what you think of the Mayfly now that it’s inked a lease in the Footscape neighborhood and how these compare to all the other woven lifestyle sneakers we’ve seen from Nike Sportswear over the years.  Photos: atmos

Nike Mayfly PRM QS – Release Info

nike mayfly premium qs black fresh mint 1 570x379 Nike Mayfly PRM QS Release Info

We’ve seen several pairs of sneakers this spring offering a premium look courtesy of a caramel leather sockliner, but you could make the argument that none of them have benefitted from this classy look more than the model pictured above.  The Nike Mayfly Premium Quickstrike looks quite a bit different these days than it did when it debuted in bright orange, proof that even a wildly unique metatarsals-meets-cobblestone pattern can be integrated into an upscale look with the right palettes in play.  Your choice between black and Fresh Mint pairs offers a range that’s absolutely massive compared to the relatively small difference between them, and both pairs will be in stock at Kith in Manhattan this Friday, March 2nd.

Nike MayFly PRM QS – Black – Tan

Nike Sportswear has displayed an uncanny ability to turn the most technical and unflattering of shoes into perfect lifestyle shoes. Take for example the Nike MayFly – a track and field shoe that was stripped down to skin (Tyvek material, actually) only to give runners an advantage. Of course, this new Premium offering is meant more for the weekend, because it’s got a simple Black/Tan colorway constructed in suede uppers and leather insoles. The original graphic stays, but it’s got a new heart thanks to this Premium-grade transplant of materials. Check out the extra shots below and see what’s available at UK retailer End.

Nike Mayfly – Fresh Mint + Black | Available

It usually takes several years for a Nike Running release to earn a retro run from the Sportswear division, but here’s a case where we see the division jump in less than two years from debut.  The Nike Mayfly came onto the scene just a few years back with a shockingly slight 4.8oz build for distance runs, but these NSW-crafted pairs opt for a more luxurious casual approach as evidenced by suede detailing and one feature that never fails to denote a premium release: caramel leather, in this case on the sockliner.  A black pair has joined the ‘Fresh Mint’ joints we showed you around the turn of the year, and both are available now at Asian retailers.  Click through to see the unique pattern both pairs share and stick with Sneaker News for word on a possible US release.  via ST

Nike Mayfly ‘Fresh Mint’

January 10th, 2012 by | 1 comment

nike mayfly fresh mint 1 570x379 Nike Mayfly Fresh Mint

Nike Running is at the peak of its lightweight performance game with many models incorporating some combination of Flywire, Hyperfuse and/or LunarLon, but even those cutting edge technologies haven’t rivaled the above pictured model when it comes to sheer daintiness.  The Nike Mayfly comes in at a shockingly slight 4.8oz, but this new edition might be ever so slightly heavier thanks to the tan leather sockliner added to give this mint green edition a premium feel.  They still feature the same funky brick road/tarsal anatomy pattern featured on the ‘Bowerman Series’ debut from summer 2010, but the effect is decidedly different in this new design and should invite some more casual buyers as well as those who want to test out the Mayfly’s lightweight credentials.  Check out more images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.  via Sneaker Freaker
