Our last Omar Salazar sighting was at last month’s Nike+ 2012 Festival of Sport in China, where he showed up rocking a black sneaker that looked to be his collabo with Levi’s. Following up on the recent ‘Port Wine’ drop, we see the FW12 collection keep with its neutral styling on the latest Nike Omar Salazar LR, a Medium Grey and Sail that introduces Nike Skateboarding to the pale new Work Blue shade that made its debut on a few styles from the Sportswear division this season. This style gives the appearance of a simple greyscale look from afar and rewards your eye for detail once you recognize the Swoosh comes in an offset color. They should be in stores in October and you can see more in the meantime when you click the jump below.

Despite the runaway success of Stefan Janoski’s signature line, Omar Salazar is the reigning king of the northern California skateboarding scene thanks to the recent Levi’s collaboration and a fresh new take on his first Swoosh signature. The Nike Omar Salazar LR is back today in another new colorway, one that shows off some of the Lunar Salazar’s blocking options with a combination of Port Wine and black. This rich combo looks great with the all-white sole (the perfect kind of look for transitioning into the autumn season), so click through to see more angles and find yours at select retailers like Concepts.

Vacaville native Stefan Janoski’s hometown is closer to Levi Strauss & Co’s San Francisco headquarters, but it was Sacramento’s Omar Salazar who was chosen to be the Nike SB x Levi’s collection posterboy. Dunk Low SBs are taking care of both navy and black jeanswear looks, so Salazar’s entry leans toward San Fran’s rich skate legacy with a black suede and leather build. The Levi’s x Nike Omar Salazar LR has a timeless appeal in this simple build, and the understated yet unmistakable back pocket silhouette embroidered into the heel reminds us of the immortal 501 that’s been around longer than every single sneaker company. It was very much ‘perfect timing’ when on May 11th (5/11), we got our first look at the Nike SB x Levi’s 511 jeans. Their July 4th release date had been revealed over a month prior and the project’s been teased since February, but until today, we still didn’t know which Swoosh skateboarding sneaker(s) would be involved in the project. Thinking back to 2010′s Bruce Springsteen-inspired ‘Born in the USA’ Independence Day drop, it’s easy to see how a classic like the Dunk or maybe Blazer or even Bruin might be called upon. Instead, we see the familiar Red Tab logo applied to the heel of a recently revamped design, the Levi’s x Nike SB Omar Salazar LR ready to come out of hiding in time for next week’s holiday drop. Click through to get a better look at the Levi’s Salazar LR, let us know how they compare to the Dinosaur Jr. Zoom edition and stick with Sneaker News for updates. via Omar Salazar

Omar Salazar’s signature sneaker no longer carries ‘SB’ branding, but that doesn’t mean he’s not still very much a part of the Nike Skateboarding family. This fact is reinforced with Nike SB’s recent tweet of an upcoming Drenched Blue edition of the LunarLon-cushioned variation scheduled to release next month. The Nike Omar Salazar LR pairs the Lunar footbed with a vulcanized sole for a superior connection to your board, its suede and canvas upper offering both style and function. The Salazar LR has been praised for improving on all of the original’s areas of opportunity and this dope blue, white and black colorup will arrive at select retailers beginning in July, so click through to see more and stick with Sneaker News for updates.
