The result is a series of attractive and supremely comfy anachronisms like this new Nike Pre Montreal Vintage Lunar Racer, a throwback to the Swoosh’s earliest days whose commitment to excellence is a fitting tribute to Steve Prefontaine’s legacy. As they’ve become accustomed in recent years, Nike Sportswear resurrected a classic runner and gave it a tech-oriented upgrade as the Pre Montreal returned along with a LunarLon-cushioned featherweight redux. Somewhere in between lies the new Nike Pre Montreal Vintage Lunar Racer, a first for NSW in the sense that they’ve allowed the upper to stay true to its mid-’70s roots even as the sole was switched for Lunar foam. This makes for a slightly jarring effect that’ll have you taking a second look (a little like those left-facing Swooshes on the NFL x Nike jerseys you’ll see this weekend), and Sneaker News will keep you posted on their arrival in the US.
