They’re the second Premium Dunk SB to hit NikeStore in one week following Diamond’s ‘Tiffany’ Highs on Saturday, and just one of several significant drops hitting retailers this Friday. Some people were calling these a ‘St. John’s’ Low but the suede overlay has a marbled texture whose closest precedent is last year’s MIA collab and not a ‘Be True’ original. It appears that the rumor is now put to rest because those Red/White joints are indeed an upcoming Valentines Day release, complete with a unique finish on the red suede upper and cracked white leather to match. This Nike SB Dunk Low, which is part of the Black History Month pack and is slated for a February 1st release, has already started to arrive at some SB accounts. These shoes mark the second time that an SB Dunk has been included as part of this annual pack, and while last year’s “BHM” SB Dunk Low was dressed in black, red, green, and gold, this year’s version is made up of a mostly black upper with two unique features. The first is the reflective graphic on the back quarter panel, and the second is the gradient midsole. With Nike at large issuing Black History Month sneakers for several years, the skate division jumped on board last year with the first BHM SBs.  The Nike SB Dunk Low pictured above that’s scheduled to release on Saturday, February 1st is the second such Black History Month Dunk, and follows last year’s tri-color makeup with a more abstract celebration of this pack’s theme of Pan-African achievement.  The shoe is mostly black but gets a huge boost from a reflective patterned rear quarter panel and a gradient red and purple midsole with an icey outsole below.  These are connected to 2013 Thrasher SOTY Ishod Wair, and you can see some crisp new photos below to tide you over while we wait the just over two weeks until they drop.
